Hero Arts City Windows for Paper Players Challenge #757

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Stef’s turn to host our Paper Players Challenge this week and it’s sketch week. The minute I saw this sketch I was inspired to use a set that I received as part of the Jennifer McGuire Crafty Box. I have used so many things that I received in that box, and still have a long way to go to using everything! I was so lucky to win one of these boxes and absolutely loved this set that was included. Its a set called Hero Arts City Windows and it fit perfectly with this challenge.

Here’s a sneak peek:

I don’t often make interactive cards, but I decided this sketch would work beautifully for a shaker card.

Here’s Stef’s sketch:

Even though Stef said any shape was OK for the focal point, I decided to go with a circle!

I began by cutting out the circle in the middle of a Neenah Solar White 110# piece of card stock. I then added the City Windows die to that same piece of cardstock and die-cut the cityscape. Once that I was ready, I added a sunset to the background and a piece of acetate to the focal image.

I added the sentiment and a heart to the city scape. I then took some of my seqyines and added them to the background that I created. I added foam to the back of the card front to create a cavity for the sequins to roam freely.

This city scape just felt as though it needed a hot Mediterranean sunset background. I color coordinated the sequins to match the background.

Here’s my full card:

And here’s a closeup of the sequins and goodies that I added to the shaker:

  1. Jaydee, the City Scapes die just blows me away. With it, you have created the perfect card for Stef’s sketch. The fact that it is a shaker card is an added bonus. LOVE it! I always look forward to what you create each week. You never disappoint. Have a wonderful week!

  2. Jaydee, your card is simply amazing! I love the gorgeous sunset and the matching sequins in the shaker. It’s so very beautifully and perfectly CAS like you do so well. As I was writing this comment I realized that I have that die and have never used it! So you’ve now inspired to make something with it (ideas already floating in my brain). Thanks for that, my friend, and for creating such a gorgeous card using my sketch!

  3. Gosh, I didn’t immediately pick this as a shaker card but it’s fabulous! Love that bright sunset sky, while the cityscape die is awesome. What a superb card! 🙂

  4. This is simply gorgeous, Jaydee! I love the saturated orange sunset and the sequins on it–I don’t think I have ever made a shaker card before and this looks amazing! Love that sentiment too!

  5. Jaydee, this is just amazing! I love that you made a shaker card! The beautiful bright sunset is spectacular and your city scape is perfect! I love it! Have a great weekend, My Friend!
