Waffle Flower Postal Collage Envelope Die for Paper Players Challenge #759

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Christy’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s color week. Now, these colors would normally encourage me to make a Halloween card, but I decided to go against the tide and do something totally different! I pulled out my Waffle Flower Postal Collage dies and used the matching Envelope die and Stencil.

Here’s a sneak peek:

Using the colors in this way gives an almost spring like feel instead of Halloween! Here’s our challenge badge:

Purple and green make great Halloween colors, but I really wanted to go with something soft and feminine. This card was made for a FB group called Because Kindness. It’s a group that sends cards of support to people who request them on behalf of friends or family. I especially loved the sentiment!

I used my stencil to color the envelopes and then used the envelope die and the postal collage die to cut out the focal layer. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of purple cardstock and heat set it with white embossing powder, then fussy cut around it, and then adhered it over the envelopes. I added a couple of florals for a little touch of softness.

Here’s my card:

On a personal note:

Well, fall has arrived! It has been in the 60s this week – a far cry from the late 80s a few days ago. There is definitely a wonderful chill in the air, and the leaves have finally decided it’s time to maybe think about changing. This year will have very little color and the leaves will fall pretty fast. I do miss it when we don’t have the profusion of fall color. It really is my favorite time of year. Jean, your favorite time of the year is just around the corner 🙂

I had a little helper when I was crafting earlier this week. Miss Luna decided she needed to see exactly what I was up to. She inspected everything on my desk, checked out all my inks and blending brushes and then decided to lie down and help move things around!

She really is rather sweet :-). Well, I am off to my classes. I’ll be back later in the week with a card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I love this soft and sweet version of the challenge colors! Great way to show the range that this combination can have and we have such a fun mix of Halloween frights and floral sweets in the DT this time. Lovely!

  2. Jaydee, your card is so sweet and as you noted, more reminiscent of spring than fall, which is a nice alternative to all the Halloween cards this week! Love the dainty florals and all the cute envelopes. I haven’t dived into the Postage Collage envelopes yet but you’ve certainly given me some incentive with your lovely card!

  3. The way you’ve put the envelopes into the stamp frames is really clever and very attractive. But the masterstroke of this card is the way you’ve tamed those colours and made them delicate and feminine. Great outside the box thinking!

  4. Wow, striking. I love how absolutely pastel you’ve gone with these colors. I’m trying ever so hard to go more pastel but my colors still are too intense. Thank you for this inspiration.

  5. I adore the way you went with the colors! It may be fall and in the 60’s outside, but our hearts can still say Spring. Wonderful card.

  6. Beautiful, Jaydee! I love the envelopes incorporated into the stamps. You have shown the softer, sweeter side of the challenge colors. Fabulous! Aw! Little Luna is going to become quite the helper! What a lovely little lady!!!

  7. Jaydee, this is just so pretty! Feminine and classy! Love that you soften the colors and made this lovely Spring like card! Love you little helper! Too cute! Have a great Fall weekend!
