Simon Says Stamp Window Trio and La-La-Land In the City for Paper Players Challenge #760

Happy Sunday.

It’s my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s clean and simple week. My favorite week! For our challenge I decided to go with a theme, and it’s one that I thought was perfect for this time of the year. It inspired me to use my Simon Says Stamp Window Trio stamps and pair it with that gorgeous paper from La-La-Land called In the City.

Here’s a sneak peek:

I just love this DSP and think that the window die is the perfect way to showcase the DSP.

Oh, and here is our challenge badge:

I began by die-cutting the window in black cardstock. I also die-cut a space in my card front to insert the frame and the paper. I glued the paper to the back of the card front and then inserted the window frame over the top. I adhered just the top and sides of the window frame, as I wanted it to look as though the window was open just a little bit to let in those gorgeous autumnal breezes! I kept the base of the card very clean and simple and used Early Espresso as my card base. I thought it was the color that matched the paper best. I added a simple sentiment and my card was complete.

Here’s my full card:

Seriously, how fabulous is this paper?!!!! I abnsolutely love it and noticed that there are some new ones for winter! I might just have to accidentally drop some into my basket next time I shop 🙂

On a personal note:

Well, I had intended to post this week, however, I ended up doing the Pinkfresh Studio create and connect classes over the week instead of last weekend. We were just too busy last weekend for me to take two days for the classes, so I took my time over this past week to the get the cards made.

Before I go, I wanted to share a couple of photos from my classes this week – and they don’t involve stamps! 🙂

Charlie is my constant companion when I am in my craft room. I have a cat hammock on my desk and he lies there basking in the sun. He just loves it. He also has one on the window, but he prefers the one closer to me on my desk.

Little Luna decided she rather likes the one in the window, especially as she can watch all the boxelder bugs that are out and about on the windows. They drive her crazy!

Charlie hasn’t quite decided how he feels about having Luna so close to him. Luna on the other hand couldn’t care :-). Maine Coons have this weird trait of draping themselves over everything! You can see that Luna decided to drape herself over the edge of the window hammock. Charlie’s face says it all…. Mother… really?!

The next day Charlie decided I had been spending waaaaay too much time focusing on my cardmaking, so got up out of his comfy bed, sat on top of my goodies and put both his paws on my arm!

I am hoping to get some time to play along with some challenges this coming week, if Charlie will let me that is :-). I have some fun new goodies that need a little love and that I can’t wait to use! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Dies: Simon Says Stamp – Window Trio
  • Paper: La-La Land – In the City
  • Cardstock: Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso

  1. I love this card! CAS and simply beautiful! I have that pack of papers, and have yet to get them to the crafting table! I’m still working on the August Pinkfresh Create and Connect cards. I missed a couple of classes, and I should have followed your lead and done them as soon as I could.

  2. How I love seeing these great products put to use so beautifully! They are sitting near my desk and you’ve inspired me to create with them. I have trouble when I buy a kit thinking I need to come up with a very unique use for the items, and with all the great samples done in a short time, that is hard to do. I LOVE that you chose brown – it really makes the scene on the paper pop. Clean and simple for the win!!

  3. A gorgeous card, Jaydee, and such a great way to showcase that beautiful paper! I love how the window is open too, that’s such a fun interactive element. Since I grew up in a place where we didn’t really get a fall season, I really revel in all the fall colors in Colorado! Thanks for a fun challenge this week!

  4. How magnificent! That simple window with the glorious autumn colours beyond is magical. Love your colour choices for the base. You have the most amazing collection of craft things!

  5. Your card is sweet and CAS, yet with that view, it speaks volumes! Very pretty card and definitely the perfect dp for the window.
Our neighbor breeds Maine Coons and it’s so amusing to watch them in their outdoor “hamster wheels” getting their exercise and basking in the sun. They are definitely a beautiful, regal breed

  6. Fabulous, Jaydee! The designer paper view through this beautiful window is stunning. Every time I see you use this window die I think I really NEED to buy it. It’s a gorgeous card. I loved this week’s challenge. Thank you! Have a wonderful week!

  7. That SSS kit has to be one of my all-time favorites and I LOVE the gorgeous CAS card you created with it, Jaydee! Our leaves are finally starting to turn (thanks to much colder mornings) and the colors remind me of those in the paper you used. Fabulous challenge!

  8. Jaydee, this is a gorgeous view! I love this DSP and the window frame is just perfect to create such a beautiful scene! I love it!
Such a great challenge! Your little stamping buddies are the cutest. I know they bring you great joy!
