Happy Wednesday.
I hope you are all having a great week. Me? I got to spend some time in my craft room today and made 3 cards for different challenges. Today’s card features a die set from Papertrey Ink that I just couldn’t resist. It’s a delicate die called Snowdrops and they are one of my favorite flowers! I paired it with a sentiment set from Papertrey called Happy Holidays, and a fabulous frame from Altenew called Fine Frames.
Here’s a sneak peek:

Those delicate flowers just make me so happy! Oh, and I pulled out some cardstock that I have had in my stash for decades! It’s Linen cardstock from Ellen Hutson.
Here’s the challenge badges for AAA Cards, Cupcake Inspirations and Simon Says Stamp. The Cupcake Inspirations challenge is to create a card featuring something that makes you smile. Well, Snowdrops always make me smile. I so rarely see them now, but their appearance in February/March when I was growing up always felt so magical. I mean, who can’t imagine fairies flitting around snowdrops in the snow!

So, I’m guessing you might have realized this is going to be a clean and simple card :-).
I began by die-cutting the delicate snowdrops and inking them up with my blending brushes and three shades of ink from Pinkfresh Studio.
I then brought out the Fine Frames set from Altenew and die-cut the frames in white. I used only 4 layers of the die and kept the rest for another card. I needed to anchor the circle, so I brought out a stamp from a set I got from Spellbinders called Woodland Tales, and I inked it up in a pale grey.
I knew I wanted to add a little more interest to the base and that’s why I brought out the linen cardstock instead of the plain white. I love the texture it gives and how it echoes the texture from the snowdrops and the frames.
The sentiment comes from a Papertrey Ink set called Happy Holidays. I decided the card needed a small sentiment as I didn’t want to draw too much attention from those gorgeous snowdrops.
Here’s my full card:

Seriously, I just love these snowdrops!!! I know they are Spring flowers, but thought they would make an unusual Christmas card. Thinking about it, they would also make a great sympathy, birthday, thinking of you, or any other type of card.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a card I made for Atlantic Hearts, and it is a totally different type of card! In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Snowdrops – Papertrey Ink. Fine Frames – Altenew
- Stamps: Woodland Tales – Spellbinders.
- Sentiment: Happy Holidays – Papertrey Ink
Hugs
