Curiosity Spring Finds for Addicted to CAS #234

Happy Saturday.

Addicted to CAS is back after a 4 month break and we are kicking off our 2023 design team challenges with a very appropriate code word.

It felt really good to be creating CAS cards again and I decided to bring out a set of dies that I haven’t used very often – Curiosity Spring Finds from The Greetery.  These came out a year ago and I think I have only used them once before.  I combined several of the small dies into a single focal element.  This card was inspired by the Robin’s that nested in the wreath on our front door before we sold the house.  We loved watching the male and female build the nest inside the wreath and loved watching the babies hatch and then take their first flights.

I began by die-cutting all the elements from the Spring Finds set and then colored them with my finger sponge daubers.  I added some splatters of white, blue and brown inks and blended some blue ink on the base to help anchor the nest.  I added a sentiment from the Springtime stamp set – also from the Greetery.

When I made this card, back in February, Spring felt like a life-time away!  But the last couple of days have been bright and sunny and in the 30s, the snow is melting, and it’s beginning to feel just a little more like spring.  We have also seen our first Robin!

I noticed that The Greetery has recently announced larger versions of this mini set, but I must admit, I am rather fond of the elements in this size 🙂
