Happy Monday.
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. As for me, I got to play in my craft room and create some cards inspired by challenges. The first card is one I made for the current Just Us Girls challenge, where they are asking us to use stencils! I decided the Merry Bookmas stencil from Waffle Flower would be perfect and I used the co-ordinating die to create a shaped Christmas card.
Here’s a sneak peek:

I love me a punny sentiment and this set has several of them! It was on sale this weekend, but I just noticed that it is completely sold out, so I can’t be the only one who loves this set! Actually, this set is another one that was included in my amazing Crafty Box from Jennifer McGuire. Several times a year Jennifer does a clean-out of her goodies and sells a huge box of goodies for $100 plus shipping. The proceeds go to charity so it’s a win for Jennifer as she cleans out her craft room, it’s a win for the charity and it’s a win for the lucky person chosen out of the hat!
Here’s the challenge from JUGS for this week:

I began my card with the stencils and kept the colors to a very muted red and green palette. Once the stenciling was complete I used the matching die to die cut the patterns on the books, as well as the die that cuts out the tree.
I then used the die that cuts out the tree to cut out another tree in copper metallic cardstock and mounted that behind the stenciled tree.
I then cut another tree out of my card base making sure that it was connected at the bottom of the star and did not cut all the way through. That way I could make a shaped card and attach the stenciled books on top of my shaped card base.
Here’s my card:

Seriously, such a cool stencil set and perfect for the booklover in your life! I know the very talented team across at Just Us Girls would love it if you played along with their challenge.
As for me, I am going back to my goodies to make some more cards and watching a gentle fall of snow. Don’t think we will get much more than the 8″ we had this weekend, but it looks pretty anyway!
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

I love everything about this…the stenciling, the colors and the products you used! Thanks for playing along at Just Us Girls!
Love your sweet book card — such a cute design with the cut-outs! My eldest daughter is a book hound (and teacher), so things like this are perfect. Enjoy that snow, and I’ll be wishing we get some!
Such a fabulous work of art Jaydee. Love the soft colours and how lucky to receive such a beauty. Thanks for adding to our last stencil challege at JUGS.
I love this Jaydee. I just made tags with this set to adorn little candle gifts that I will be giving to my book club members. I love the die and stencil set, and I love the sentiments too. Love your project!
