Happy Thursday.
I hope you are all having a great week. Here…. well, it’s just a little cold! I mean, maybe that is a slight under statement – it was down to -20F this morning. That would be -28C for those who prefer centigrade. So, what is the best cure for it being cold outside? Yep, spending time in my craft room 🙂
I played along with the Sunday Stamps sketch challenge and used one new product – the Holly #1 die from The Greetery, and the Shaker Tag Book Die from Pinkfresh Studio. The latter was another one of the goodies that arrived in the seemingly endless supply from the Jennifer McGuire Goody bag 🙂
Here’s a sneak peek:

I rarely make shaker cards, and I rarely use tags, so I was happy to see that the sketch from Sunday Stamps included a tag. It really helped push me out of my comfort zone.
Here’s the sketch:

First thing I did was work out what I was going to do for the circular element. I die-cut a stencil from a piece of cardstock using my nested circle dies. I then used the negative space as the circular element and added details from a snowflake stencil from The Greetery. I then die-cut the tag from the Pinkfresh tag die. I added an extra die-cut using some DSP that I got as part of a card kit from Simon Says. I wanted a leafy pattern as the base for my tag.
I then die-cut the holly leaves and added some shading. Last thing to do was to add a sentiment and then fill up the shaker with some stars from Stampin’ Up!
Here’s a closeup:

I did one more thing to the card to finish it off. I added some gold twine as a bow to the tag.
Here’s my full card:

I know the very talented team across at Sunday Stamps would love it if you played along with the challenge. :-). I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need it tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Shaker Book Tag – Pinkfresh Studio
- Holly: Holly #1 – The Greetery
- Sentiment: Sentiment Suite: Christmas – The Greetery
- Star filler: Gold Shaker Stars – Stampin’ Up!
