Happy Sunday.
It’s my turn to host our final Paper Players challenge of 2025. To be honest, I cannot believe we are at the end of the first week of December already. I have no idea where this year has gone. All I know is that it is beginning to look – and feel – a lot like Christmas. I chose a theme for our challenge this week, one which I think is very appropriate for this time of year.
For my card I had to use a brand new set that I bought all because the very talented Michelle Ferguson of I card Everyone used this same die on a card for a recent Freshly Made Sketches card. I just loved that stupid Grinch had so much, I just had to have it!
Here’s a sneak peek:

Oh…. that silly Grinch had just makes me smile!
Here’s our challenge for this week:

Initially I had created a totally different card for the challenge, but once my Grinch hand arrived in the post this week, I just had to change it out. I began my card by die-cutting 3 white layers of 4″x 5 1/4″ card stock and die-cutting one of the arch dies from the The Greetery Arches set. I layered two of them together and added the sentiment and slipped the Grinch hand in between the two layers.
I then backed that with the third layer of white and mounted it onto a black card front. All that was left to do was to die-cut the ornament from some Modern Christmas DSP from Stampin’ Up! I just loved the idea of the Grinch delivering this super stylish ornament to someone 🙂
Here’s my card:

The sentiment is from an old MFT set called Christmas Selfies. It’s one of those sets that escapes my twice yearly purges, and will continue to do so for a long time to come:-)
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well, winter finally arrived and let herself be known. It got down to the -20s this week, after she had dumped 7″ of snow on us. Tonight we are expecting another 2-4 overnight, so the world should look even more wonderful tomorrow. There is something so magical about snow for Christmas. Mind you, when we get beyond Christmas, I have to admit that I am starting to get just a little tired of it :-). At least the skies are normally bright blue and the sun is shining. It’s the one thing I have always appreciated about winters here in Mn. The bright sunshine sparkling on the snow is enough to lift anyone’s spirits.
I had to share a photo that I took of the back of the garden.

It was a dull morning, but it still looks magical! I hope to get into my craft room to play along with some challenges tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Grinch Hand – Kat Scrappiness
- DSP: Modern Christmas – Stampin’ Up!
- Sentiment: Christmas Selfies – My Favorite Things

Jaydee! I am so happy I had a little influence on your Christmas shopping this year! I also had a friend who enabled me to buy this sneaky guy – so I guess one could say that this is the gift that keeps on giving! LOL
I LOve your card – and can’t wait to play along this week!
=]
Well dang, I think I might need those dies too! This is such a fun card and I love how you got the Grinch’s sleeve to peek out from between the layers of cardstock. As soon as I saw your card, my brain started singing “You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch!” Love it. Enjoy the snow–we have a couple of inches here in Colorado that was enough for my kiddo to get two snow days this week. The district only allotted five for this school year and somehow I think that won’t be enough!
Yeah I immediately bought those dies 🙂 Thanks, Jaydee! And also thanks for a fun challenge, great way to close out the year!
So funny. I too bought that die set under the influence of Michele F! She puts a spell on me. I love your creation with it. Hoping to get to one myself today. Your wintery weather sounds gorgeous for this time of year. Wishing you warmth and lots of crafty time. xx
I too was inspired by this fun die set from Michele and am so glad that you and she have led the way. It’s so comical, and such a great throwback to childhood. Laughter is good medicine. Thanks for your inspiration!
Oh my gosh, Jaydee! Is this a hoot or what! I never imagined a Grinch hand could look so stylish and elegant, but it certainly does. Of course, you know exactly where I am headed! Yep! Gotta have it! Have a wonderful week…and thank you for the awesome challenge this week!
Well, that silly Grinch just made me smile too! And I see you’ve used that paper we both have to great advantage in the bauble too. Love the elegance of the layout – all subverted by the grinch hand into something next level. As always, a beauty!
This Grinch card is wonderful, Jaydee. So fun. Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year to you and Lou.
Hugs,
Jeanne
That sneaky grinch made me chuckle Jaydee – I am definitely going to try and track him down lol! This is such a fun card and that sentiment is right on cue too. Fabulous!
Grinch cards are a hit this season and your version is simply fabulous! Who doesn’t love the Grinch, and holding that gorgeous bauble, he looks downright fashionable lol! Great idea to sandwich his arm between layers. Simply fabulous card, Jaydee!
My husband and I still look forward each year to the old cartoon Grinch, narrated by Boris Karloff. I don’t know that I’ll ever tire of him! 😉
Jaydee, thank you for being an enabler. NOW, I really want this set. This is so fun and made me LOL! How perfect to share holiday cheer. Love that you could make this in your perfect CAS style. SMILE!!!!! I love every detail! Your winter wonderland is beautiful and I wish you a VERY Merry Christmas. I look forward to playing with you in the New Year, My Friend!
