Happy Friday.
I am so excited to be guest designing across at As You See It this week. I won their Neutral Night challenge with this card and was invited to play along as the guest designer for challenge 365. A huge thank you to the talented team at As You See It for asking me to participate. The challenge this week is a recipe challenge and requires that all 5 elements from the recipe are included on your project. The title of the challenge is Rhapsody in Red!
It took me a little time to work out what I was going to do – in fact, I made 3 cards and all of them ended up in the scrap heap. It’s not often that I do that, but somehow my mojo had gone south with the swallows! In the end I decided to use some cardstock that I blended with 4 different shades of red and then die-cut some gift bags from the Paris Gifts and Cologne Gifts die sets from Alexandra Renke. Here’s a sneak peek:

I love these little gift bags, they make me happy!
Oh, and here’s the recipe for the As You See It Challenge:

My card had to accommodate shades of red (check), celebrate theme (check), vellum (check), punch or die (check), and finally, bling! I incorporated the vellum by using it for gift tags for the bags. The bling came from the rhinestones that attaches each tag/bow to the gift and the shades of red comes from the blended cardstock I created.
I needed something to ground the gift bags, so I pulled out my Alexandra Renke starts stencil and used a light pink ink to create little stars.
I then added a sentiment from The Greetery Sentiment Suite: Birthday set and popped up the individual presents. I thought a mini slimline would be the best shape for my card.
Here’s my full card:

Aren’t those little parcels fabulous? I love all their whimsical details and crazy ties! I hope you will join the challenge this week. We would love to see what YOU create with this fabulous recipe. As always, the design team have some wonderful inspiration for you, so I hope you will check out their blogs.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Paris Gifts, Cologne Gifts – Alexandra Renke
- Background stencil: Stars – Alexandra Renke
- Sentiment: Sentiment Suite: Birthday – The Greetery
Hugs
