Round About Winter Foliage and Pine and Berry Background for Freshly Made #563

Happy Sunday – again!

With all of my design team cards done for the year, and a little time on my hands today, it was the perfect time to go looking for a couple of challenges.  I found a great sketch across at FreshlyMade

The sketch was the perfect excuse to bring out a new die that I bought as part of the All Wrapped Up release from The Greetery.  As it was also the thankful sale at The Greetery this weekend, I was able to get this beauty 15% off.  I paired it with a background stamp called Pine and Berry – also from The Greetery and some wonderful glitter paper that I got at Michael’s this week for BOGO free!

I’m not normally a shimmery and shiny kinda gal – but I just love this glitter paper.  It’s a warm white and almost no glitter comes off when you use it!   Oh, I suppose you would like to see the sketch!

I stamped the background first and used a soft white opaque embossing powder.  I then die-cut the round about winter foliage die twice and layered them.  I used a sentiment from the new Tagged Elegance stamp set and heat embossed that with some fine silver embossing powder.  I layered all these things together and put them on a shimmery white base to tie the focal element to the base of the card.   Here’s my card:
In the light the shimmery paper takes on a slightly pinkish tinge, but it really is a warm white.  I love the detail from the embossed background and think this new winter foliage is going to become a firm favorite.
