The Greetery Honeycomb Balloon for Paper Players Challenge #773

Happy Sunday.

I hope you are all having a great weekend. The weather is in the high 40s here – a huge change from -40 :-). So we are all enjoying the sun and warmth and watching the snow melt! Our Paper Players challenge this week is hosted by the fabulous Stef and she has a great theme challenge for us. It’s also clean and simple week. For my card I used a fun set called Honeycomb Balloon from the Greetery and paired it with an embossing folder from Spellbinders called Pooh’s Birthday Numbers.

Here’s a sneak peek:

The great thing about this die set is the little honeycomb centers. They fold up for posting and then can be peeled back and adhered to create the honeycomb effect on the balloon. So cool.

Here’s our challenge from Stef:

I began my card by creating the background. I needed a flat surface to add the sentiment, so decided to split the card in two from corner to corner and embossefd just the left hand side portion with the Pooh’s Birthday Numbers embossing folder.

I then die cut the elements for the balloons. The strings were cut from both glitter and pink cardstock. I stamped and die cut the informational piece for the back of the honeycomb and adhered all the elements together. The last thing I did was add the sentiment.

Here’s a view of the card as it is when it goes into the envelope and through the post.

The Greetery sells double sided adhesive foam so that the little heart can be die-cut with adhesive on both sides. The small heart in the middle of the heart is what peels back to allow the balloon to be opened and adhered. So darned cute!

Here’s the card when the hexagon element is fully opened and adhered to the base:

I hope you will join us and play along with Stef’s challenge. We would love to see what YOU create. As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, we still haven’t finished putting my room together! The last of the furniture pieces arrived yesterday and will be assembled over the weekend. Then, I have to reorganize the drawers and find a home for things. That should take a while :-). Then it will be time to put the finishing touches on the room. Artwork needs to be framed and hung, doors painted and butcher block tops painted. I really can’t wait to get it finished!

I’ll be back with a card later in the week. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Stamps and dies: Honeycomb Balloon – The Greetery
  • Embossing folder: Pooh’s Birthday Number

  1. Jaydee this is just fabulous! I love the partial embossed panel (a great one for birthdays!) but that honeycomb balloon is an absolute scene-stealer! Such a great centrepiece even for a CAS card. love the glittery string too. This would be such a fun card to receive in the post with the reveal – I love it!

  2. Jaydee, this card is AMAZING! It would be worth growing another year older just to receive this card in the mail! I love the color and the sparkle. Of course, the honeycomb balloon steals the show. PERFECTION! Have a wonderful week!

  3. Oh my goodness… this is totally awesome! The honeycomb balloon had me swooning but then I see it folds up and is interactive at the receiving end! Yikes – could it be more perfect. But yes, it can because then you’ve used an embossing folder that I so wish I had. As for the sweet cluster of twirling ribbons in pink and glittery gold … wow! A genius card. 🙂

  4. Such an adorable birthday card, Jaydee! The balloon is such a clever element that it’s perfect for a CAS card. The die cut ribbons add festive sparkle and the partially embossed background grounds the ballon with nice texture. Fabulous card!

  5. Extreme fun and festivities! Your card is more than a reader, it’s artwork and amazing in every detail. How fun! The colors and sparkle are pretty amazing too

P.S. Where did you get the actual honeycomb?

  6. Jaydee, this is my favorite CAS birthday card ever. That balloon steals the show!!! Now, I am going to have to order some of those items. You are a total enabler!!! Love the colors and all the sparkle!! Great embossing, too! Have a great weekend, My Friend!

  7. Love your honeycomb balloon so much Jaydee! The embossed numbers are a fab addition too! What a pretty card full of fun textures!
