I hope you all had a Blessed Easter.
Well, I got to play in my craft room yesterday just for the sheer fun of it. My design team cards for the next few months are complete so I have the chance to play along with some challenges and I stopped by Sunday Stamps and saw a great sketch that I had to play with and the colors from Cupcake Inspirations.
I looked at the challenge and thought trellis and once I had that thought, flowers were the next thing that popped into my head. I decided that the Pinkfresh Studio Cherry Blossoms would work well and paired the dies with a background die that I made into a stencil from Altenew and a sentiment from Gina K.

I don’t think I have ever used the trellis background die as a die….mmmmm… maybe I need to :-).

I began by die-cutting the trellis and then using the die-cut piece as a stencil for the background. I then stenciled all the elements of the cherry blossom with inks and die-cut them using the no frame die from Pinkfresh. I stamped the sentiment from Gina K’s Good Life and die-cut that with a simple circle.
I popped the branch up on two other layers and then glued it onto the background. Here’s my full card:
Such a pretty set of dies and I really am a little obsessed with that background die that I really need to use 🙂

OK, now you’v e got me obsessed over that die! I love that it has the “missing” spots that add a ton of interest. Your cherry blossom is gorgeous, and the timing is wonderful as we wish/welcome Spring to our areas. Your card is beautiful and perfect.
Oh so pretty! My hubs had a brief trip to Washington DC recently and it just so happened he was there in peak cherry blossom season. We went to a cherry blossom festival when we lived in Japan too : ) I really like how you shaded the leaves, gorgeous colors.
