Happy Sunday.
It’s the fabulous Claire’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week, and it’s clean and simple week. I decided to ink up a new set that I got from Concord and 9th called Sweater Season. Now, tbh, I cannot think about Christmas Sweaters without getting all swoony over Colin Firth in Bridget Jones’s Diary. Mind you, that also brings up another image of him in a white shirt in Pride and Prejudice. Now, where did my mind go and what was I saying… oh, yes, clean and simple cards. Claire’s challenge! Right, now we are back to earth let’s take a sneak peek of the card:
Of course I had to create a background from one of my all time favorite stencils from The Greetery appropriately called “Knitwits”.
Here’s our badge for the challenge this week:

I began my card by die cutting the elements from colored cardstock. I then created my background panel using a Spellbinders Essential Arches die. I stenciled the knitted background from the Knitwit stencil in a complementary color and die cut a heart from the die set.
I stamped the sentiment in black and then chose an alabaster base for my card. I added some subtle ink blending at the bottom of the card base up to the middle and then adhered all the elements onto it.
Simple and easy. Here’s my full card:

On a personal note:
Well, it certainly hasn’t been sweater season here yet. We managed to eat dinner out on the deck last week without being eaten by the mosquitoes. It was in the 70s, low humidity and a slight breeze. The fireflies were out and the frogs were singing and it was glorious. It makes me wish that we lived somewhere it is possible to eat out more often during the year. It’s such a quiet, peaceful place to just relax and talk. We have some ideas for that moon gate for halloween though 🙂
The cats love sitting in the sun room with the windows open. They can watch all the birds and the critters going about their business and still have a comfy place to rest.
Smudgie loves lying on the back of the couches. Any couch. If there is a couch or a chair with a comfy cushion, you will find him curled up fast asleep. Charlie is usually sitting anywhere I’m sitting 🙂

LOL, I love me a Colin Firth movie too!!! And this little sweater with its knitted stenciling would make ol Colin look pretty good too! Love your kitty photos as well….no sweater weather here in PA either!

This little sweater and cap are perfect for a Fall day. The stenciled knitting stitches make the perfect background! CAS perfection! You certainly made my challenge shine!
Your outdoor dinner looks delicious! I love to eat outdoors, but the mosquitoes have been terrible this year. Your kitties are so happy in the sun room! I would love to sit out there and read! Have a great week, My Friend!
This is a card that speaks to my heart, Jaydee! I am a fan of sweater weather, and I can’t wait for the temps to drop. I could live in an area that was fall all-year-round. These are great colors for fall. The sweater and hat look so comfy. Of course, I always love it when you use the Knitwit stencil. Your backyard sanctuary is so serene. I can’t wait to see how you decorate your moon gate. Smart cats…who wouldn’t enjoy the sun room! We’ve had to ban dogs from the new couches at home. Back cusions and 80 pound dogs do not mix, as our old couch would attest to. Like Smudgie, they would prefer to lay across the back cushions. Have a wonderful week!
