Hey Chick for Paper Players #585

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Ann's to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a week for having a little fun and laughter.

I don;t have a lot of stamps that are humorous – but I remembered I still have my old Hey Chick in my stash.  I've had this since Stampin' Up! originally brought it out years ago.  So, this was the perfect excuse to bring it out and ink it up!

I stamped the images and quickly colored them.  I added a wonky stitched rectangle die to the outside to frame my images and voila.  The card was ready to go.

HeyChickCAS
Such a simple set of images – but such fun ones, too!  I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you create.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you.

On a personal note:

The snow is finally melting and even though there is some in the forecast for this afternoon, we know that it won't be staying around long!  It seems to have been a very long – and cold – winter this year and it is wonderful to see some of the summer birds making their return.  As I type this blog post I can hear all of the red-winged blackbirds shrilling in the garden with the intermittent peep of the robins.  As we are preparing to move, we won't be putting up our wreaths at the front door where the robins have nested for the past two years.   We don't want the poor things to nest there and then be evicted by the people who buy our hone.  Not everyone will be as accepting as us and we would rather not risk the robins nest and babies.

I did manage to get into my craft room yesterday for the first time in many weeks.  I needed to get ahead of my challenge commitments for the next couple of months as I know I will have to start packing up my goodies soon.  Intellectually we both know that we have to  make this move, but emotionally it is going to be much harder.  Consequently, we have been a little lax about packing up and clearing out, but that has to change in earnest this week!

I'll be back on Friday with my Addicted to CAS card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Hi Jaydee,
I am happy to see this chick inked up, it gave me a smile! Love your cute card! I appreciate your personal note too. Moving can be so hard. Hang in there!

  2. So cute, Jaydee! This is one of those sets which is timeless. That wonky frame adds to the fun factor, too. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face, and for rocking my challenge! Have a wonderful week!

  3. Such a cute card. I do have a few humorous stamp sets, but then, I have to be careful on who I send them to.
Some of my friends, & even family members just do not have a sense of humor sometimes.
Humorous cards are so much fun to make
No snow here & already have had to mow the yard. Everything is budding and leafing out.
Oh, the other day we got up to 94 deg.
    Take care & stay save.
Hope you have a wonderful day

  4. Too cute and funny Jaydee! Love the stitching too! We moved a few years back after being in our home for almost 20 years so I know how difficult and emotional it can be! Good luck! Have a great week!

  5. I love this chick and the little egg. Sure to bring a smile! Simple and perfect for the theme. It is so hard to pack up and leave a home you love. I am thinking about you! I know you will miss all your wildlife visitors. Warm hugs!

  6. Adorable card, Jaydee! This reminds me of a boss I had quite a few years ago, she was fond of calling certain people “a good egg”. Best of luck on your move, I hope everything goes smoothly!

  7. Such a cute card, Jaydee! The wonky frame is the perfect detail, too. I am going to have to go back and catch up on your posts. I didn’t know you were moving. It’s a lot of work and I hope everything goes smoothly. Bug hugs!
