Happy Sunday
It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and her color choices are as bright and cheerful has her personality! It was also a great excuse to pull out the Botanicuts Wildflower Mix, Put a Bow on It and Pretty Postmarks from The Greetery.
When I first saw these colors I went aaaargh!! They are much brighter than colors that I normally use. BUT… I have to tell you – I absolutely fell in love with them once I started playing around with them. So, Anne Marie, thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone!
I die cut the elements from Wildflower Mix and colored the flowers and stems with the challenge colors. I added a beautiful bow from Put a Bow on It and then added the sentiment. To ground the flowers, I added a couple of elements from the Pretty Postmarks stamp set – added a few splatters and my card was finished. I used black as my neutral.
Here's my card:
I hope you will join us and play along with Anne Marie's gorgeous colors. We can't wait to see what you create. As always, the very talented design team have some great inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
I did get to spend a little time in my craft room today and had fun playing with my crafting supplies. It really does relax me to just switch off from the week and worry about what colors and stamp combos I am going to make. Such a wonderful distraction!
I hope you will indulge me, but I wanted to share a couple more photos from our Antarctica trip. I am still amazed by the scenery and how majestic it was. The other thing that struck me was how quiet it was. It was so quiet that when the ship anchored in one of the bays, all you could hear was the ice popping. The only thing that I can relate it to was the sound that is made when you pour milk onto a bowl of snap, crackle and pop cereal – except louder! :-) It was absolutely magical. Another thing that struck me was thee shades of blue. Depending on whether the sun was shining, or it was very overcast and misty, the shades of blue turned from a gorgeous rich shade of turquoise to a deep, bottomless blue, to shades or purple!
Here's a photo of an iceberg – it might look small… but in reality it was massive – about three times as long as the ship and about 4 times higher! If what was above the water was only 10% of the iceberg, you can imagine how far it went down! But, it was the colors that drew me to this photo
Isn't that amazing? And how about those shimmering diamonds on the water? Just magical! So different to the colors in the photos from my post last week. If you missed those, you can see them here.
A different iceberg – on a much cloudier day… but still magnificent. What I love about this photo is the granite cliffs providing a backdrop to the iceberg, and the cold, grey icy waters.
If you look at the far left corner of the bottom of the photo, you can see the blue reflection from the iceberg in the water! I also love the fact that you can see the layers of snow built up on top of each other.
The next photo was taken on the last day in Antarctica. I just love the bergie bits (yes, a technical term!) The ice was breaking up as it was still early Spring, but the waters were pretty hard to navigate – but… oh… brother was it gorgeous and that glacier, that wends its way down to the sea… was breathtaking
And, I have to leave you with one last photo of another bird from Antarctica. One of our expedition leaders called them the Chickens of the Antarctic – and you can see why!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Jaydee your floral bouquet is lovely! I adore that big bow and the clever way it incorporates the sentiment and beautiful sponging/type behind too. The real showstopper are your travel photos though – that blue is stunning!
