12 cards of Christmas Day 2 – Robin and Wren

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a fun CAS theme for us:

Now, I was tempted to use my new Cozy Cups stamp and die because I was so inspired by the gorgeous photo on the badge but decided to use the colors as inspiration for a Happy New Year card.  I used another one of the sets that I bought with my gift card to The Greetery.  I paired Robin and Wren stamp set and dies with the Blooming Branch stamp and dies.  I also used the gorgeous Nordic Frames die to frame the focal elements.

I am obsessed with the little robin and wren.  Two of my favorite birds.  I love that they are multi-stamp because that way you can color these birds any color that you like!  The instructions that come with the set are really helpful.  I used Pool Party ink to create a "sky" behind my birds and used Pool Party as a base for the card.

Here's a closeup of the little robin:

Isn't he cute?  Here's a closeup of the wren:

I also love how detailed the stamps are for the Blooming Branch.  As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you

I'll be back tomorrow with another Christmas card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, you’ve created a lovely scene with the robin and wren, and I can almost hear the wren singing full throated while the Robin gives its annoyed clucking sound LOL! I had many of both nesting in my yard in Oregon…I miss seeing them here in my Idaho yard. Love the layered coloring of the stamped images and Nordic frame around the perimeter of the background panel. Such a pretty card to share for the New Year!

  2. Oh my gosh, Jaydee! I am in love with this card! It has a gorgeous retro vibe to it. The colors used are perfect. And these birds …they are so sweet! It will be like a breath of spring for whomever receives this card. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful card for my challenge this week.

  3. Love the colouring and layering of the stamps for this cute pair Jaydee – such a perfect set for you too, bird and nature lover that you are. Love the border detail too!

  4. Oh Jaydee, I can’t begin to tell you how much I Love this card!!!! I love the watercolored sky, the robin and the wren. The Nordic frame is just fabulous, too! Every detail makes me smile! This card will certainly make some lucky recipient very happy! Have a great rest of the week, My Friend!

  5. So sweet, Jaydee! I love those little tweeters and your colors are so soft and pretty! 🙂

  6. Jaydee, everything about your card just makes me smile! I love the cheery colors and that detailed border is the perfect touch. I am always enamored watching the birds in my yard and this just reminds me of sitting out on the patio. I only wish we had Robins here. I always mistakenly refer to the Cardinals as Robins and it drives Dave crazy. So, of course, I keep doing it. Haha! Hope you had a great week, my friend. Big hugs!
