Happy 4th!
Not a red, white and blue card – but a red, white and green card for today's post :-) I used my Stampin' Up! Playful Pets suite to play along with two challenges today – the color challenge across at Color Throwdown and the sketch across at AtlanticHearts.
I began with a piece of the Playful Pets DSP, which already had the red and white. I incorporated the green by coloring the little fish in green. I stamped and die-cut the dog and colored him with a copic marker, leaving one ear white. I stamped the sentiment onto black card stock and heat set it with white embossing powder and backed it with a piece of real red card stock. I die-cut a paw from the Pampered Pets dies in black card stock and added that to a real red circle. Here's my card:
Of course, I had to add a little more texture on the banner by running the banner through my Big Shot with my Dazzling Diamonds embossing folder.
On a personal note:
It's really hot and really humid here and it's wonderful to have a long weekend. We will be having a quiet 4th July doing a couple of chores around the house and then relaxing and chilling. I hope you all have a wonderful 4th. I'll be back later with another card. Before I go, here's a quick look at what has been visiting our feeders. This female RedWinged Blackbird looks nothing like her mate – and she's certainly much quieter! Her stripes give her the perfect camoflauge in the reeds.
