Happy Thursday. I have a card for you using an old FunStampersJourney set called Express Yourself. I've had it for years and it is one of those sets that will never leave my craft room:-)
I saw these two great challenges – a sketch challenge from Inspire.Create and a theme challenge at Inkspirational.
Here's the card we have to use as our layout from Inspire.Create:
And the word prompt challenge at Inkspirational:
The minute I saw the word prompt "sketch" I thought about the Express Yourself stamp set. When I saw the layout at Inspire.Create – I realized I could tie the two together to create my card.
I used four different elements – two brushes and two paints – to create the 4 panels. I "inked" the brushes with red and green and then added green or red brush strokes where appropriate. I then took the tubes of paints and color co-ordinated those. In the middle of the panels, I joined the green and red together to make it look like mixed paints on a palette. I heat embossed a white sentiment onto a piece of black card stock and put everything together. Oh, of course, I couldn't help but add some shimmer and shine:
I adhered the panels – but not all the way. I have no idea why, but I decided it looked better that way. This is one of those times when you look at something in a photograph, and it doesn't quite look how you thought it would…. In hand it looks fine… but in the photograph it doesn't. Well, I suppose that's the thing about creative decisions… 🙂
I will be back tomorrow with another card. Before I go, here's what's visiting the feeder today:
Sometimes, when I take these photos and go to develop them…. I am never sure who has been watching who? In this case, I think this female grosbeak had my number!
Until tomorrow, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today – and stay safe.
hugs
jaydee
