Happy Birthday to You for FreshlyMadeSketches #426

Hi Everyone.

Happy Saturday – again!

I managed to play along with the FreshlyMadeSketches challenge this week.  Generally I only get to play on Sunday and it's a squeeze to meet the Monday deadline, especially if I finish too late to photograph my card.  However, this week, I managed to make it with a day to spare!

Here's the fabulous sketch from the team this week:

I decided to make a congrats card – one that would work either for a birthday or a wedding – or any celebration that requires a cake 🙂  I stamped up the SU SaleABration set – Happy Birthday to you.  I colored it with my Prismacolors and fussy cut it.  When I went to add it to the card base, I decided the base needed some texture.  So I added a layer of woodgrain from Altenew as well as some crinkle card stock… I think that was also Altenew.  I had to add a little shimmer and shine, so took some silver mirror card stock and added that just above and below the horizontal layer.  I stamped the sentiment and adhered it to the card base.

Here's my card:

I really do like this cake image.  In fact, I liked it so much that I used it for two different challenges this week!

I hope you pop along to FreshlyMade – you can see fabulous design team inspiration cards and wonderful submission cards – lots of inspiration for you!

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. This is such a gorgeous card, Jaydee! Your coloring is beautiful and I love how you added texture to your design with the woodgrain and striped patterns! Great idea to use London Fog ink for the image…so striking!

  2. That cake is gorgeous, and all of that texture adds the perfect additional touch. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
