Beautiful Friendships for Paper Players #463

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's color week:

My problem with this color scheme was how to make a card using obviously Halloween colors – but not make a Halloween card :-)  Mind you, one of my besties does celebrate her birthday on Halloween… so the colors and the birthday card are perfect for her 🙂

I started with a Vanilla base… I know… shock!  Me using a non-white base!  I began by stamping the flowers onto the base and then added the sentiment onto the focal layer.  I die-cut it and mounted the top panel on fun foam.   Here's my card:

Stitched All Round Beautiful Friendship (1 of 1)
The sentiment is from the Stitched All Round set and that fabulous die is from Sizzix.  I hope you will play along with us this week.  As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Mmmmm… so look what greeted us when we awoke on Saturday morning!

Yep… that white stuff would be snow!!!   We were lucky though, as we only got a dusting and it's due to get back to the early 60s this week, so this stuff isn't hanging around for long 🙂

I was sitting at my desk on Friday and had a little visitor come and have a snack at the bird food!  We see so few deer these days, that they are always a very welcome site.  (our city mayor decided that deer were dangerous, so had a licensed cull…. don't even get me started on that topic!)  But that's the reason we see so few.  I'm thrilled to report that she's traveling around with a couple of babies, too.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

Card recipe:

  1. Jaydee, I love that you used these colors on a non-Halloween theme. My brain just kept going back to Halloween no matter how hard I tried. Your card is simply stunning as always and that die is wonderful. Love the added detail. Like you, I don’t reach for vanilla very often, so I’m trying to challenge myself to use it more. On another note, I’m super jealous of your snow, even if it’s not hanging around for long. Have a fantastic day, my friend!

  2. Your card inspired me to keep pursuing a non-Halloween themed card with these colours Jaydee – your card is such a great way to showcase these colours, perfectly balanced against the soft vanilla base. I am loving that fabulous die too – a great card!

  3. Jaydee—what IS the name of thar fabulous die?!? I love your card and way it was done hides the halloween colors (if that made sense)!! Love it!

  4. Beautiful, Jaydee! I love the layout…and how you used these colors in a non-Halloween way. What an awesome die! It really sets the sentiment off!

  5. I am happy you made a non-Halloween card with these colors…that’s what I normally try to do, but I embraced Halloween this week! Your florals are beautiful, especially with that pretty sentiment!

  6. Your friend will cherish this card! I love it and the way you used the colors for a card that was not Halloween! Your die is just fabulous! Can’t believe you already had snow. YIKES! I know you love it! Have a fabulous day! XX
