Stitched All Round and Textured Backgrounds for Paper Players #461

Hi everyone.

Happy Sunday.  It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week – and it's Tic Tac Toe week!

I worked really hard on the Tic Tac Toe to make it season appropriate and, looking out of my window I can see pumpkins, leaves, orange, fall and halloween.  the only thing I can't see looking out of my window is patterened paper 🙂

For my card I chose to go straight down the middle with birthday, die-cut and cas.  I wanted to showcase the fabulous textured background dies again and paired it with some of the wonderful patterned paper from the See A Silhouette DSP set.  I am in love with the font from the Stitched All Round Stamp set 🙂

Here's my card:

Textured Backgrounds Stitched All Round (1 of 1)

To finish off the card, I added some enamel dots in the middle of the flowers.   For the sentiment, I used one of the dies from the Frosted Frames die set.

I hope you will join us and play along.  We can't wait to see what you make from this Tic Tac Toe.  As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Even though it is going to be in the 80s on Tuesday, we are generally down in the 50s and 60s.  It's been a very wet fall and this morning is no exception.  Cool, wet and grey.  Mmm… sounds like England 🙂

Today, Lou and I will redecorate the house and outside – removing the cool blues and creams and replacing them with the warm reds and oranges.  Out go the mercury shells and orchids and in come the  pumpkins and sunflowers.  Although I am SO not ready to say goodbye to summer, the weather is telling me that I need to change things up :-)  So no crafting for me today – but I did manage to get in to my craft cave and make a couple of cards yesterday.

We have only seen one or two summer avian visitors over the last week.  The thrasher was at the suet feeder for most of the early part of the week, but I haven't seen him since.  The one thing we have not had this year, which is really very odd, is the flocks of blackbirds that have gathered to make their way south.  Generally they are all over the feeders; grackles, redwinged, cowbirds, etc…. but NOTHING.  Really odd.  However, the goldfinches have been loving the seeds on the native grasses and flowers.  I love watching them land on the heads of the echinacea flowers and peck away at the seeds.  We have enough berries on the shrubs to keep the berry eaters happy – the cardinal in particular.  Our white squirrel is still around – so has managed to survive summer.  We watched him prepping his nest for winter – he was rushing up and down the tree carrying fresh leaves and fluffing up his nest.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
