Altenew 3D Chocolate for Paper Players Challenge #761

Happy Sunday.

It’s the fabulous Joanne’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s sketch week! The sketch inspired me to bring out a Craft Your Life set I got from Altenew called 3D Chocolate. It comes with an embossing folder that makes my mouth water – it looks so realistic it’s crazy! It also comes with some fabulous flower dies. I combined both of those for my card this week.

Here’s a sneak peek:`

And here’s Joanne’s fabulous sketch:

Such a great sketch and so versatile!

I began my card by running a piece of Early Espresso cardstock through my Gina K Intricut machine (my favorite die-cutting machine btw). I just love all the detail from the 3D chocolate pieces.

I then die-cut the flowers and used my inks to blend color onto them and I arranged them around the sentiment. I used the large flower as the circular sentiment from Joanne’s sketch.

Here’s my card:

One thing I did notice with this photo….. how much better my new photos are! This was taken before I set up my new photo table. I don’t think I realized how much better the photos are until I saw this old one! I couldn’t re-take the photo with the new set up, as this card has already been sent off to Creative Kindness!

On a personal note:

Well, no crafting got done today. I have been sorting and clearing and organizing. I generally do this twice a year, once in fall and another in late spring. It was such a beautiful day today. No humidity, no rain, slight breeze and temps in the 50s. Absolutely glorious fall weather. So, it was wonderful to open up the windows, let some fabulous, fresh, clean air into the house and get rid of stuff I am no longer using! Our local charity shops will be a little fuller after this weekend:-)

I also managed to almost finish setting up the fall decor at the front door. It’s very different to the wonderful front porch that we had in our last house. Decorating that was a breeze as there was so much space and it was completely covered. Here it’s very different. It’s a small space, so I chose to decorate with lots of fabulous pumpkins, which will go to the deer and animals to eat after Thanksgiving. I also added some small solar lights to give a gentle highlight to the pumpkins at night as well as a couple of lanterns. Now I’m thinking about how I am going to decorate this space for winter!

When I was taking a photo, little Charlie had to make an appearance, of course!

I really think the pumpkins need some straw to lie on and to cover up the bare patches of soil in the window box! Up until a couple of weeks ago, the window box was overflowing with herbs!

And can we talk about this ridiculous pumpkin on the right hand side! I have no idea what it is, but it’s amazing! How wonderful of Mother Nature to cast a couple of yellow leaves onto the mat for us!

I don’t feel the house is quite right yet. I’m not sure what it is, but it just doesn’t quite feel finished. I needed some light on the fitting in the family room and found these adorable little mushroom lights on Amazon. I absolutely love them. They cast a warm glow in a dark corner of the bookcase and I love that they are rechargeable and don’t require batteries. I just thought they were perfect as part of fall decoration!

I had my little helper on my desk this week. She was helping me make my Snowdrop card! Can we talk about that one Salvador Dali whisker!!! You cannot believe just how long that whisker really is!

And on that note, I am hoping to get back on Monday with a card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

  1. A lovely card, Jaydee! I love how the soft colors of the flowers pop against the chocolate brown backdrop (and I’m trying not to think of the giant stash of Halloween candy in my pantry right now, ha!). I haven’t gotten to do much crafting lately either; yesterday we painted the laundry room bright green, a vibrant color I chose just because it makes me happy and we actually OWN this house for the first time ever. Have a great week!

  2. When I saw your card on the private blog, I was absolutely blown away, Jaydee! This chocolate die looks so realistic and is the perfect backdrop for these GORGEOUS colored flowers. Not only do I have a craving for chocolate now, I am also craving these dies. Oh my gosh! Can we talk about the whiskers on your lil’ helper’s mug! They are amazing. She is going to be a showstopper when she matures. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Oh Wow, Jaydee! I am blown away by this chocolate die! It is so realistic! Your shaded flowers are so beautiful, too! The sentiment is absolutely perfect for this card! So creative!
I think your front porch and pumpkin patch look perfect. SO festive. Where did you get the grouping of Fall flowers in your taper planter. I need one of those! I have one of these are my porch. I Love it. All the wonky pumpkins make me smile. They are my favorite! Have a great week, My Friend! As always, your little helpers are the cutest!

  4. Hi Jayden,
Good night and shut the door! That looks like a giant chocolate bar. You could take a round paper punch to a corner to make it look like you ate some of it 🤭 Your flowers and leaves are beautiful, so is your home entrance. We love kitty cats here. Beautifully created 🩷

  5. I’ve been desperate to read all about this card ever since the first glimpse of it. I don’t know which is the more appealing – that gorgeous spray of softly coloured flowers or that chocolate die! Both are fabulous, together they are next level! 🙂

  6. You had me at chocolate Jaydee – the embossing is so realistic, it really does look good enough to eat! Add in those pretty flowers and the perfect sentiment and this really is a special card. Gorgeous! Loving the outside decoration too – those pumpkins are amazing!

  7. Wonderful card that looks absolutely scrumptious! Your florals are great too. I love seeing your extra photos and it all is amazing,in clouding your beautiful Maine Coon

  8. Jaydee, your card is not only beautiful, but also yummy looking lol! That background in EE is so realistic looking…hmmm, reminds me that my husband bought Hershey’s bars for Halloween… Your ink blending of the flower arrangement is so subtle but yet really pops off the background. A gorgeous card!

Love seeing the planter full of pumpkins along with the arrangement by the door. They have some odd shapes and sizes for sure, but it’s a striking arrangement. Thanks for sharing the decor and kitty photos; it’s always a wonderful bonus when visiting your blog!

    Hugs, Stef
