Happy Tuesday and I hope you are all having a fabulous day.
I saw a great sketch across at Atlantic Hearts this week and realized it would be perfect for a new die set that just arrived in the post. I really don’t understand how these little packages keep arrivng 🙂
Cosmos flowers hold a very special place in my heart, and this die-set seemed to perfectly capture the light, airy feel of them. I remember seeing them by their thousands on the side of the road. Pink and white perfection, just waiting to be plucked and put into a vase. They were my flower of choice for dinner party table arrangements in March and April. The late summer evenings were just perfect for outdoor dinner parties! Anyway, I digress!
Here’s a sneak peek:

I began by creating an arched background using an arched die and some inks. I realized when I took the photo that I had just about covered it all up! You can just see it towards the botton of the arrangement!
Here’s the sketch for Atlantic Hearts:

I die-cut all of the elements for the flowers and colored them with my small blending brushes and inks. I added just a final tough of pink to the middle of the pink flowers with my Copic markers as I needed a little more intensity toward the middle.
I clustered them to the focal layer, that I had die-cut using my Textured Notes dies, and then popped up the flowers with different heights of foam dots.
I stamped and die-cut the sentiment from the Traditional Labels set from SU. I know it’s meant to be a Christmas sentiment, but I thought it was broad enough to fit birthdays and other celebrations, too.
Here’s my full card:

Ah…. a bouquet of Cosmos just seems to make the whole day brighter:-). I love that banner sentiment, too, and think it might be getting more outings!
I know the design team across at Atlantic Hearts would love it if you played along with their challenge and you have a few days left to do so 🙂
I’ll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
- Dies: Garden Cosmos – Altenew
- Sentiment and die: Traditional Labels – Stampin’ Up!
- Frame Die: Textured Notes – Stampin’ Up!
Hugs

What a beautiful take on a flower I love too. These cosmos are gorgeous both in their textured details and colors. You can know for sure that you have made my day a little brighter! I think the sentiments and dies are perfect!

Oh, this is glorious! Love your colors, your pretty blue arched frame and then of course there’s that beautiful frame die — so wonderful, Jaydee. You keep this up and I’m going to have to find me a SU dealer – lol. On another note, your outdoor dinner parties sound pretty wonderful too
