Happy Sunday.
It's the fabulous Stef's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a theme for us that a lot of people seem to be following these days! It was the perfect excuse to showcase another card I made with a Spellbinders card kit that I got at a deep discount. I also got the chance to use some from paper from that kit – way outside of my normal DSP, but super cute!
Here's a sneak peek:
And here's Stef's challenge:
I used some of the ephemera pieces that came with the kit to create a central focal point, including that fun little bikini and the ubiquitous crab! I really had fun with this set and it's another card making it's way to Ronald McDonald house.
Here's my full card:
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
I hope you will play along with our challenge this week, we would love to see what YOU create with this fun theme.
On a personal note:
Well, we are on the move again! I can hardly believe that I am saying this, but we are about to make our 3rd move in 2.5 years! We found out that we will be spending longer here that we had initially thought, so, rather than continuing to pay rent on an apartment, we have purchased a house and we are supposed to close next Friday. From deciding to buy and reaching out to our agent to signing contracts – 4 days! It was amazing that a house came up the 2nd day after we reached out to the agent, it's interesting how the universe works sometimes. It's also pretty ironic that the house we sold here in 2012, when we built our house up the in the Twin Cities, came up for sale this week! So, looking at the house online was a trip down memory lane! Our new home isn't exactly new as it was built in the 80s, but it has recently been renovated to a really high standard. It's also in a no mow-no snow development, so we don't have to worry about mowing lawns or shoveling snow. The one thing we will have though – BIRDS and CRITTERS!
As much as we have loved living up in the skies in this apartment, I have really missed listening to, and watching, the birds. We think the cats will love having something to watch again. The new house has a 3 season porch, which we will be turning into a 4 season, so we think the cats (and us) will love being out there. We are really excited about it…. packing up again…. less so 🙂
Little Chilli continues to grow…. it's amazing how this guy has grown in the last 2 months. He loves watching TV and will jump onto my laptop and demand that I put on CAT TV on my laptop for him.
It's hard to believe that in just over two months he has gone from this not quite 5# kitten:
To this almost 10# kitten – and he still has a lot of growing to do.
Here he is watching the Olympics. He decided the back of the chair was too far away and he needed to get MUCH closer!
It's hard to believe that little Charlie is now almost 15 years old. He still runs around and plays like a kitten and has a wonderful way of keeping a kitten who is 3 # bigger than him in check! Chilli might be bigger, but he certainly knows that Charlie is THE boss.
He's also not too old to jump into the trolley and into a box either!
I'll be back later in the week. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

I love your cats (and your card)!!! Maine Coons are beautiful and Chilli is so beautiful!
Charlie’s markings are really unusual and he, too, is beautiful!! I have a 15 pound black rescue cat with big teeth. Your kitties will love your new home and, I’m sure, you will, too! Happy moving days!
Jaydee… LOVE the DSP! Such a cute card. Congrats on the new home purchase…and amazing you found a place with no mowing or shoveling. Sending warm thoughts to you as you pack up!
Your card is fantastic, Jaydee! You made a great collage of the ephemera and that dsp is the cutest. I also like the colorways, kind of a soft pastel with that beautiful periwinkle. Yum!
I was just thinking about you and how you must miss all the birds, deer and other critters you had around your former house and here you are, moving to another house where you can enjoy the same again, and the kittieswill too! Wishing you luck with the move, it’s never fun.
Jaydee, the fish DSP is just divine and I like the colours in it too. Your cluster of beach elements is great, although I like it best when I don’t find crabs at the beach and avoid getting my toes nipped! I’m interested in what a no-mow, no-snow is but best of luck with your quick – but meant-to-be move.
What an adorable card, Jaydee! The fish paper is so cute. I LOVE the ephemeral collage. Congratulations on the new house! I can’t wait to see pictures!
I adore this card….the colors are so fun and they would be out of my comfort zone too but I just love it all! That ephemera is perfect for the beachy challenge!
Another move—oh my goodness, better you than me! But I think you might have the process down pat by this time! Hope the kitties acclimate easily too!
I just love this card Jaydee – the colours, the fun beachy ephemera and that fishy DSP – just fabulous! I can’t quite believe you are on the move again – you are a true pro!!
Love your card with the darling bathing suit. Oh, and congratulations and good luck with the move. Hope the kitties do well. Love little Chilli. Hugs.
I just LOVE this fun card! The colors of the DSP and beach items are fabulous! SMILE!!!! Congratulations on your new home. So excited for you! I know you will have a blast decorating and making it your own. Best wishes in your new home!
