It’s a New Day – Paper Players #677

Happy Sunday.

It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week.  It's also clean and simple week – an important fact that seems to have completely skipped my attention when I made this card!  However, as I am currently nearly 11,000 miles away from my crafting goodies… it's impossible to do it again!  So, I share with you the card that I made – fits the theme – but is definitely not CAS!

The card I made uses a set that I got on sale from Pinkfresh Studio called It's a New Day and a coverplate die that was also on sale called Stitched Diamonds.  Here's a sneak peek:

Oh… and here is Ann's theme:

I began by stamping the flowers and heat setting them with white embossing powder.  I used the matching stencils to color the elements and then die cut them with the matching dies.  I used the Stitched Diamonds coverplate to create some texture on the base layer – and die-cut the scalloped frame with a soft grey card stock.  Here's my – not clean and simple – card!

Friendshippp

I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you create for YOUR friends.  As always the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Lou and I met up in Perth and I am on an overland for 10 days together with Lou until I pick up the ship again in Sydney at the end of February.  Man.. it is hot here – 43 degrees C – 110F.  As I have been enjoying the airconditioned comfort of the ship – the heat has hit me and I swear it feels closer to 140 🙂

I'll be back later in the week with another post.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. It’s an absolutely stunning card, Jaydee! I love everything about it. There are so many amazing design elements, including the frame, the stitched backdrop and those fabulous white embossed flowers! It may not be the cleanest and simplest, but it is certainly gorgeous. Enjoy your time with Lou!

  2. Last year we had 50°C . . . . it was hot!!! We have air conditioning only in our bedroom and we rearly turn it on, but that day we did!!!

  3. Well, maybe not super CAS but I still love it Jaydee! Those flowers are beautiful and I love the diamond inset detail and that layered frame too. Gorgeous! Enjoy your on-land time with Lou – hope you manage to find some cool spots!
