Playful Petals for Paper Players #719

Happy Sunday and welcome to the last Paper Players challenge for 2024.  Where has this year gone????

The fabulous Ann is our host for this week and she has a wonderful color challenge for us.  I decided you'd seen enough Christmas cards so I brought out the Playful Petals from Pinkfresh Studio along with some gold hot foil!

Here's a sneak peek:

I just love this Playful Petals set.  Here's Ann's colors

Sadly, my camera didn't catch the richness of the Cobbler so it looks more pink….   I loved the choice of Cherry Cobbler with Peacock and the touches of gold really lift the two colors.

I hotfoiled the image with the Pinkfresh Studio Betterpress plate and then used the matching stencils to add color.  I used the matching dies to die cut the image and took advantage of the additional image so that the two largest flowers could be layered.  I do like the effect it gives having two layers for the flowers there.

I heat embossed the sentiment directly onto the Peacock and then added the florals.  As I wanted to lift them off the page a little, I added 3 die cut pieces cut from 80# card stock to the back of the image.

Here's my card:

Aren't those colors gorgeous together – even if the red isn't showing quite the right color!  I hope you will join us and play along with our challenge this week.  We would love to see what you create with Ann's colors.

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:

On a personal note:

Well, Christmas decorations are almost complete. I'm still waiting for a couple of things that I bought on sale to arrive and then I can finish up. But it has been wonderful to be able to take some of the decorations that we had in our old home out of storage.  The fabuloous Nutcrackers are making a re-apperance this year.  As we don't have a front porch, they now grace the 3-season porch instead.  They always make me smile!

As you can see, we have had to winterize the windows to try to keep some of the cold out.  Mind you, it's 50 degrees here today and it's almost the middle of December!  The cats love going outside into the porch, so we have a space heater out there and hope that the winterizing will help us let them out there during winter.  Which, we presume is coming at some time!!!

It's hard to believe that this week is the last week for all of my DT challenges for 2024.  This year really does seem to have gone so quickly.  Mind you, being away for the first few months of the year made it go even faster 🙂

I'll be back later in the week.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift today.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. The gold foiling is simply luscious. It gives glitter and elegance all in one hit. The layering of the flowers was a great choice. Your nutcrackers are magnificent! You need a lot of storage for them – or do they break down? Anyway, have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. 🙂

  2. A beautiful card, Jaydee! I LOVE how you showed that these colors can be used for more than Christmas. This is such a lovely floral image. The petals have the illusion of depth and dimension. It’s incredible. The Nutcrackers work great in your three-season room. What fun for the cats! Thank you for making my challenge shine. Happy holidays!

  3. Jay Dee… I just love your home, your style and your cards! The gold foil on green is just beautiful… and a reminder what a great sentiment ‘best wishes’ is. Have a phenomenal holiday!

  4. The flower bunch looks so beautiful in gold and cherry cobbler against the rich peacock background. My mind went completely Christmas with this combo, so I love seeing how lovely it looks for a different occasion. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and that winter will arrive someday…??

  5. Jaydee, this is gorgeous! I love the background and the beautiful hot foiled foilage! I don’t have that machine, but it sure is amazing! The gold adds so much elegance. Your new home looks so festive and beautiful! Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and may God Bless you in the New Year!
