Happy Tuesday.
I discovered (a new to me) challenge site today and decided to play along with their unique challenge. It's called the Lift Challenge and we have to lift elements from the designer card and make a card of our own while being inspired by the original card.
I was inspired to bring out the Stampin' Up! Rock On set again – and added some of the DSP that came out with the set. Here's a sneak peek:
Here's the original card by the talented Wanda Cullen – talk about a CUTE card!
I began with the background. I used my trusted old Knitwits Stencil from The Greetery. I then die-cut a frame from a set from the The Greetery called Crimped Rectangles. I cut three thin pieces of the cardstock from three different sheets and adhered those to the card frame. I stamped and heat set with clear embossing powder both the sentiment and the guitar and die cut them with the matching dies.
I popped up the sentiment and the guitar with foam dots and my card was ready. Here's the full card:
I think you can see the "lifted elements". 1) the patterned frame. 2) a patterned background. 3) 3 strips of paper. I had to change the orientation of the focal element and the DSP so that it would fit the page better.
I know the Lift Challenge team would love it if you played along!
I'll be back tomorrow with another card.
In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee
