Happy Friday.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with love and laughter, and got crafty goods delivered by Santa! I got chance to play in my craft room this morning and played some paper and a die called Snowy Tree which came as part of the Simon Says Stamp card kit for this month. I found a great sketch across at Freshly Made and a pick two from Just Add Ink.
Here’s a sneak peek:

I am in love with the papers from La-La-Land. I have very little hope that I will use them all as I feel a compulsion to keep them and just look at them! Luckily I got a few duplicate sheets to ones I already owned with the Simon Says Stamp card kit this month, so cutting into this one didn’t hurt as much 🙂
Here is the sketch and the pick 2 from Freshly Made and Just Add Ink:

I love the 3 part die that is included in the kit. It’s called Snowy Tree. It die cuts the background, the green parts for the tree as well as the snowy parts. I used a piece of Forest card stock from The Stamp Market and added blended color with Secret Sea and Pretty Peacock from SU. I then die-cut the green tree pieces from that piece of card stock. I then adhered all the pieces together to complete the tree.
The paper had a two trees on the right hand side. All I did was add my tree right over the innermost tree. I didn’t even have to create a trunk for the tree as I used the one from the watercolored tree that was part of the original paper design.
The sentiment comes from my favorite Christmas sentiment set. It’s called Elegant Christmas 2 and comes from Waffle Flower. Once the front panel was complete, I adhered it to a panel of Forest.
Here’s my full card:

Isn’t that paper just gorgeous? I must admit, I’m rather fond of the shape of the die from Simon Says Stamp, too. I love the way it flows at the bottom. Having the trunk of the watercolored tree underneath was just perfect for my addition and the shadows even look right 🙂
I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Card recipe:
