Simple Friendship – Inspired by You

Hi Everyone – Happy Tuesday night!

A very quick post today, as my meds are really messing with my head and are making me very sleepy.  Thank goodness this is the last day that I will be on them. :-) I made this card for a friend who never ceases to amaze me, so the sentiment was perfect :-).  This Stampin' Up! Simple Friendship butterfly is my all time favorite.  I was inspired to use two of the retired in colors (Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss) and use the Rock and Roll technique for the butterfly. Simplefriendshippp  I

I stamped the image in Pacific Point onto Naturals Ivory paper and then stamped the image again and cut it out.  I first stamped it into the Kiwi Kiss and then rolled it in the Pacific Point ink.  Jaydee tip:  the key to successfully rolling is to touch the touch the corner of the stamp on the second color of ink and then roll the outer edges in a clockwise motion – in a very clean movement.  You need to touch just the edges to the ink to get coverage just on the outside.  By stamping the image the first time in the darker ink, gives an almost shadow effect when you see the raised butterfly. I attached the cut out butterfly with a little snail in the middle.

Card recipe:
Card Stock:

Pacific Point card base (A2), the Naturals Ivory matt is 2 1/2 x 2 1/8

Panels – Flock Together.  The panels are 1 x 3 with a 1/16 Kiwi Kiss matt

Designer Series Paper:

Flock Together (114018)

Ribbon and Buttons:

Kiwi Kiss

I think the Tempting Turquoise worked really well with the Kiwi Kiss and the Pacific Point to create a strong color combination.  I'm tempted to try this together with a couple of the new in colors.

As always, thanks for spending a little time in my area of the stamping blogosphere.  Your visit is always appreciated.
