Spellbinders Cozy Toes Friends

Happy Wednesday. I hope you are all having a great week so far. I have a card that I can blame on my Paper Players team mate, Claire. It’s truly not my fault that I went out and bought the Spellbinders Cozy Toes and Cozy Toes Friends dies. It’s all Claire’s fault :-). Claire sent me the most adorable Christmas card featuring these dies and I just HAD to go buy them. Isn’t it wonderful that we have such talented crafty friends that do such a great job of enabling us 🙂

These silly slippers just make me smile and I couldn’t resist creating a pink, white and green creation featuring the fuzzy monster slippers. I paired them with some old DSP that I had and used a new embossing folder from Spellbinders called Ski Lodge to create some texture at the bottom third of the card.

Here’s a sneak peek:

I have no idea what is going on in my life, but I am having a peach/pink moment. In fact, I had Lou repaint my craft room the most gorgeous shade of peach. To say he was horrified – and incredibly surprised – would be an understatement. I think he asked me at least 100 times whether I was sure about the color. But, by the end of the painting period, even Lou had to admit that it looks great!

So, my card features colors I rarely use – peachy-pink and sage! Oh, and my Christmas present was the new Sizzix machine and… yes…. it’s pink! :-). Lou thinks I’m having a mid-life crisis, except a decade or so too late!

I pulled out some DSP from my stash and used that for the background and the leggings. I used some Forest, Dark Chocolate and Bellini cardstock to create the slippers. Instead of the normal eyes for the monster (gosh, I would never have expected to write those words together in a sentence!!!), I used some google eyes. I’ve had them in my stash forever and never seem to have the right excuse to use them. I pulled out a sentiment from the Cozy Toes Friends sentiment set and my card was ready.

Here’s my full card:

It’s true…. some days just call for fuzzy slippers and leggings! Especially since I retired and no longer have to wear business clothes 🙂

I hope today’s card made you smile. I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  1. I love the colors and oh my word, those slippers 🤣 I’ve never seen those before. And soft peach ivory and a touch of sage are my favorite indoor colors, too. Love this card and CAS design.

  2. SO adorable! I gotta say, I’m loving these legs/slippers that are just so sweet — who would’ve known that a monster could be that sweet?! BTW I’m loving the peach-y and sage, and your dsp is wonderful!
