Happy Saturday.
It’s the fabulous Nancy’s turn to host our Addicted to CAS Challenge this week and she has a great code word for us. I had to think about the code word for quite a while as the word conjured up so many different choices for me. I went through my craft stash and settled on a wonderful apron from the Spellbinders Made with Love set. It made me think of all those mother’s and grand-mother’s who have spent time teaching their children how to bake and cook in their kitchens. It also reminded me of my bestie’s gran. Her gran was a tiny little thing with so much strength and she always wore a pinny. It made me think of all those times when children have been hugged by someone in a pinny and, even though it might be off piste for a lot of people, it said family to me 🙂

I paired the pinny and cookies with the fabulous Confection Companion embossing folder. There is so much wonderful texture in this embossing folder and I just love it.
Oh, and here is our badge for the challenge:
I began my card with the embossed base. I then die-cut the apron/pinny from some old Papertrey Ink paper. I have so much wonderful paper I could chose from, but wanted something quiet so that the heart and the sentiment would take center stage.
I die-cut the apron and adhered all the pieces together. I die-cut and ink blended the cookies and then placed them in the pocket. Seriously, who’s grandmother didn’t have something hiding in a pocket somewhere as a treat for us?!
The final touch was the sentiment and a heart. Now, my Grandmother never said, Gimme Some Sugar, but the idea of someone saying that just makes me smile.
