Happy Sunday.
It’s the fabulous Claire’s turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a well-timed challenge for us. I was so tempted to go the traditional love route, but decided to have a little fun with some food-themed stamps and dies! I paired the Spellbinders Pasta Friends with a stamp and die set from Trinity Stamps called Grate, Grater, Gratest stamp set, and a sentiment called Brie-lliant, also from Trinity Stamps. If that wasn’t enough mixing and matching, I added in an embossing folder from Spellbinders called Al Dente, and two dies from the Endless Love dies from Stampin’ Up! 🙂
Here’s a sneak peek:

And here’s Claire’s challenge for this week:

I began with the background. I ran the Al Dente 3D embossing folder through my new Switch (boy is that thing NOISY!). I then stamped the cheese and fussy cut it and added some yellow blended ink. I then die-cut the piece of maccherone and blended the same yellow ink on that. I added two arms to it and had one arm holding a little mushroom! I mean, what’s better than cheese and mushroom for your pasta?
I then die-cut the largest of the dies from the Endless Love set as well as the arrow. I then added the sentiments from the Brie-lliant stamp set and popped up the maccherone and cheese using foam squares.
Here’s my full card:

So, I am obsessed with the amount of detail in that embossing folder. Lou is Italian and he says this background makes him hungry! I’m also more than a little obsessed with these dies from SU. As for the sentiment… well, I am a sucker for a punny sentiment and this set is full of them!
As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Jaydee, this is the best! You made me smile! Nothing better than mac and cheese. The al dente embossing folder is fabulous! I have never seen it. I agree, the detail is crazy good! You always have the best stamps and dies. Love the puny sentiment and the black arrow. Thank you for making my challenge shine! Have a great week, My Friend!
I love those little food dies from Spellbinders and that embossing folder is amazing! So much detail and this card is such a fun take on the challenge. Who doesn’t love a good mac ‘n cheese? Adorable card!
Oh, Jaydee! You know me and embossing folders – and this one is fabulous! You can’t beat a punny sentiment paired up with adorable images. Your card will be a bright spot in anyone’s day. LOVE it! Have a wonderful week!
I’m in love with your card, Jaydee, it’s so cute! Love that it’s something different for this theme. The mac and cheese look so sweet on the big heart and I adore that sentiment. Lots of ways to use the Pasta Friends – I bought the bundle and spent 3 days playing around with them – and it’s a good match with that Trinity set you have. Have a great week!
I’m with him! Well in that your card makes me hungry! What an amazing 3d folder but your cheese and pasta are pretty adorable, what with that cutie mushroom and all. This card is so fun and amazing, Jaydee
This is too funny! I may have to invest in this set for my pasta-lovin’ Italian husband! I just LOVE that embossing folder. It’s all just so fun and creative! And that MUSHROOM!!!
Jaydee, I’m so glad that you embarked on this funny, clever pasta direction instead of the traditional love heart route. This gave me a real lift to look at. As always, your look is so clean and crisp. The embossing folder – wow – so intricate and so realistic looking. I like that you’ve used the debossed side of the folder so that the pasta recedes. The addition of the yellow ink to the food makes all the difference. Superb card!
Jaydee this card properly made me chuckle – so fun! As for that embossing folder – wow! So choc-full of detail – I love it!
This is adorable Jaydee! I have that embossing folder too and have only used it a couple of times but enamored with it since I first saw it. Love how you made a Valentine using those products…the pasta couple is so cute! What a fab card!!!!
