Stampin’ Up! Textured Notes for As You See It Challenge #357

Happy Friday.

I got to play in my craft room today and went looking for some challenges for inspiration. I found a great color challenge from the very talented Joanne at the As You See It Challenge site , who also happens to be my Paper Players team mate. I loved the mixture of cool blues and oranges and decided they would be perfect for a new SU set I received called Textured Notes.

Here’s a sneak peek of my CAS card:

I stamped the circle image three times onto the center of a Neenah Solar White 80# panel. I didn’t have the exact colors for Timid Tiger, Pumpkin Pie and Cloud Cover, so tried to match as closely as I could. I did have Secret Sea, so I stamped the leaf image and the sentiment with that.

Here’s the color challenge from As You See It:

I then used the Textured Notes dies to create the front panel. I wanted that drama of Secret Sea on my card base, but didn’t have any cardstock. So I used my ink cube to ink up the edges of an A2 white panel and that worked perfectly. Once the ink was dry on the panel, I adhered it to a card base and then added a couple of layers of blank cardstock behind the focal layer to give it a little lift.

Here’s my full card:

I know the team at As You Like It would love you to play along! As for me, I will be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm. hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Card recipe:

  • Stamps: Textured Notes – Stampin’ Up!
  • Dies: Textured Notes – Stampin’ Up!

Hugs

  1. Lovely, Jay Dee! I LOVE this set and have used it so often that if it was possible for rubber to wear out, it would have! I like your use of the textured circles to provide a context for that gorgeous foliage. The textured edge to the rectangle gives just that little bit of something extra to the design. Thank you for joining in with us at As You See It. 😉

  2. Textured Notes is the ideal stamp set to add some textured background in the challenge colours to your projects. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It.

  3. These elements look fabulous together in these colors, Jaydee! The Textured Notes dies adds just the right amount of interest, too! Thanks for sharing this with us at As You See It this week!
