Happy Sunday.
It’s my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it’s clean and simple week. I decided to go with a theme of florals for my card. I pulled out a treasured stamp and die set from The Greetery called Oopsie Daisy. I paired it with background circle dies from Waffle Flower called Nesting Dotted Circle Dies and a leaf die from The Greetery called Big Branches Ruscus.
Here’s a sneak peek:

I really love that nesting dotted circles background, especially paired with those fabulous leaves.
Here’s our challenge badge:

I began my card by stamping and die-cutting the florals. I added a tie from the Fit to be Tied die set from The Greetery. I then ran a piece of linen card stock through my Sizzix machine with the Nesting Dotted Circles dies to create the background.
I added a sentiment from The Ton’s Easy Expressions stamp set and then adhered the leaves and florals onto the card base.
Here’s my full card:

As always, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you:
On a personal note:
Well the builders are out of the house for now! Our renovation of the stairs is almost complete, we just need to add a handrail and we can get the final inspection signoff and call the job done. The carpeted stairs have been replaced with wooden treads and risers that were stained to match the floors. The black mantle on the fireplace has been replaced with a larger, more substantial, matching piece of wood. This was also stained to match the floors and the stairs. Now we just need to repaint the room and the ceiling.
This is what it used to look like looking up the stairs:

This is what it looks like now:

So much better!
Before the update, this is what the stairs and pony wall on the landing looked like. No way to see the actual stairs, nor could you see anything behind that pony wall on the landing!

This is what it looks like now:

So much better. The upstairs landing now has a real purpose. It was always set up as a reading/relaxing nook, but the pony wall made it feel so enclosed as you couldn’t see anything other than the high pitched roof. Now, you can sit in the chair and look out over the living room, into the dining room, as well as catch glimpses of the outside. Now we need to finish setting up that area – not least of which is getting some paint on the wall, artwork and something in that cabinet 🙂
This view shows what the living room looks like from the newly opened reading nook. The photo was taken before we had finished putting the living room back together, but you get the picture 🙂

The space now feels open, more modern and feels as though it can breathe! Well worth all the dust and the two weeks of craftspeople working in the space!
I’ll be back later in the week with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
