Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. Quick post for you tonight.
I made this card for the splitcoast virtual stamping night. Another one of those challenges where you only had 45 minutes to make the card. The challenge was a "pirate wench I be". What did that mean, you might ask. Well, it was to create a tough/dirty but with elements of girly card! Errrrr… wasn't sure about that one, or what I would do, but I gave it a try.
My tough elements were the extreme guitar and the extreme elements background. I used lots of grey, but threw in the occasional pink and purple for girlyness. I also used Bravo Burgundy paper and then found I had some embossing powder that was a very similar color. Here's how it turned out – not very original I know… but then there aren't that many ways to use this set.. and I only had a short time to think about it 🙂
Card recipe – all ingredients Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
- Card stock: Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White, Blushing Bride
- Inks: Basic Gray, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, So Saffron
- Stamps: Extreme Guitar, Extreme Elements. Sentiment – Papertrey
- Tools: Designer Label Punch
On a personal note:
I wasn't able to make a Memorial Day card today. That didn't stop me from taking a moment to think about it and to say thanks to those who have served and protected us. I think it's really important to do that.
Two floors of the house are spotless and sparkling. Cupboards emptied, cleaned and tidied. Drawers got the same treatment. Windows cleaned, walls washed, clothes recycled. Every nook and cranny of two floors has been given the spring cleaning treatment. It always feels so good after the house has been closed for the winter to get everything spic and span. Tomorrow is the main floor day. That's the hardest one to do. We also have the "carpet cleaning guy" coming in, which will provide the finishing touch.
I cannot believe how much the garden has grown. Our peonies are getting ready to bloom and look as though they will have a profusion of flowers this year. We woke up this morning to find that one of our geraniums had actually flowered. The most gorgeous shade of purple adorned the little green plant. Absolutely glorious!
Prayers tonight for those who need a lift or a warm hug.
I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday – filled with love, laughter and time spent doing the things you enjoy.
Hugs
Jaydee

I think you absolutely NAILED it! What a tough card to come up with. Wow. I’d have been stumped for sure. I’m impressed!
Hooray for Spring Cleaning! I’m about to do some more, and some rearranging/redecorating as well as we have a man coming tomorrow to paint our main living areas. Hallelujah!!! I’m BEYOND chuffed! :o)
Would you please, PRETTY PLEASE, post photos of those peonies? I so adore them and their utterly delicious fragrance, but can’t seem to grow them. :o(
Hugs and prayers to all. :o)
Very cool card. BTW, would you like to come and visit me for a few days? I’ve a few windows that could use your touch and also a basement that could really be a treasure trove for you! :0)
Cool card! That sounds like a tough challenge but you nailed it!
