Happy Tuesday.
The talented team across at As You See It have a menu card for the challenge this week and I was inspired to ink up a Press Plate from Spellbinders called Growing. Oh, I love the circles and graphic elements of this Press Plate, and it was a great excuse to bring out my Betterpress system!
Here's a sneak peek of my card:
And here's the menu selection from the As You See It challenge:
So… here's what I used:
- Black, white and gold
- Rhinestones
- Die
- Foil paper
- Heat embossing (I elected to use my glimmer system to heat emboss the foil)
I began with creating the background using the circle elements of the Growing set and used my Pinkfresh Studio inks with Betterpress paper. I then ran the focal layer through my Betterpress system with the leaf and some grey ink to create a shadow for the leaf. I then embossed the leaf with foil and die-cut it with the matching dies.
I then mixed up some metallic gold watercolor paint and splattered some onto the card base. All that was left was to pop up up the leaf, add the sentiment and some emerald green rhinestones.
Here's my full card:
Once again, I pulled out what has become my trusted color choice tool – the Color Box from Sarah Renae Clark. What a great resource this has proven to be for me. I'm using colors I would never normally use and color combinations I would never have thought of.
Here's a look at my card and the inspiration card:
The only color I didn't incorporate was the lime green. Thinking about it I could have used lime green rhinestones instead of the emerald as they would have popped more.
I know the team across at As You See It would love you to play along. I'll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight
Hugs
Jaydee

WOW! The leaf on its own is so very stylish but with the circles and splatter behind it, it is amazing. That simple, bold white-on-black sentiment is the perfect finisher… and I wish I had some emerald green rhinestones in my stash! Thanks for joining in with us at As You See It. 🙂
This is beautiful, Jaydee! I just love the background with the geometrics mixed with the splatter then the focal image in gold, die cut with it’s image echoed behind in the teal. That Sarah Renae Clark palette is so inspiring! I have to check those out. I believe you captured the elegance I was looking for with my challenge, so thanks for playing along at As You See It Challenges!
Fantastic card Jaydee! I’m loving the design behind the leaves – it’s such a great contrast. Thanks for rising to the challenge with our recipe at As You See It!
