It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's a theme challenge:
This was the perfect challenge to use a set I purchased from Altenew's new release called Be A Lighthouse. I love the images in this set and they were really easy to use to compose this little scene.
I wanted the focus to be entirely on the focal images and kept the rest of the card very simple. The cross-stitch frame was the perfect thing to draw attention to the image – without detracting from it.
Here's my card:
Generally, I take photos of my cards in the dining room in the afternoon as it provides the best light almost all year round. However, I finished my card too late yesterday and it was too dark to take a photo. This morning…. it's also too dark… so I had to use the kitchen countertop….. not the perfect backdrop – so I might end up re-photographing it later this afternoon:-) Fixed….. photo is much better now 🙂

On a personal note:
I'm off to play in my craft room and am looking forward to some crafting therapy. This week is going to be a very tough week for hundreds of us this week and I am hoping that time spent in my craft room today will prepare me for what is coming. It's amazing how paper, ink and stamps can be such wonderful therapy and really allow you to focus and clear your mind. I'm working on my next batch of cards for the two charities I am supporting this year – Cards for Hospitalized Kids and Card Care Connection. I really do enjoy creating cards for them and it helps to put life into perspective when you realize who you are creating cards for.
When I am down there, little Charlie sits on his perch on his climber. This is HIS space and he sleeps there quietly until it's play time.
It's a big climber for such a little cat and it takes up a corner of my craft room – but I am more than happy to give up some real estate for my little shadow :-

Such a serene and wonderful scene! Oh yes, in the winter it gets dark here at 430. Most of the time I have to take my card to work to get a decent photo of it in the day time 🙂
