Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday. Hope you are all having a great start to your week.
I wanted to share a quick post with you tonight. I made another two cards using the Kuretake Starry Colors watercolor paints that I first showcased on my Paper Players card on Sunday.
I used the same dragonfly stamp but this time used the gold paint for the dragonfly and kept the rest of the card really simple. I used normal card stock as the paints require very little water.
Here's my card:
I am really in love with these paints and can't wait to share the other card that I made using them.
On a personal note:
The weather here is getting hotter – along the same lines that Colleen is experiencing in Tx. This week we are forecast to get into the high 90s with humidity levels around 80-85%, which puts us well into the triple digits heat indices. That's waaaaaay too hot and humid for me. It's the animals that I feel for at times like this and it's the time when you know the bird bath will get the most use.
I managed to capture a couple of shots of a new bird to our garden – the Thrasher. In the 4 years that we have been in our new home (can you call it a new home after 4 years?) we have never attracted a Thrasher to the garden. We have seen him in the neighborhood, but never anywhere close to us. We noticed him about two weeks ago in the garden and yesterday afternoon I heard splashing in the water bowl on the deck. He was moving so fast it was impossible to get decent shots of him… but boy was he enjoying his bath – and boy was he wet!
he took a quick break between frantic wing flappings
The time that he spent between wing flappings wasnt long enough for me to even refocus my camera! But, he was having such fun in the bath that he attracted a female Oriole who decided she was going to join him. He decided there wasn't enough room for the two of them and may camera caught him exiting stage left with some very wet feathers!
If you are tired of looking at fuzzy photographs – how about this one?
Mommy Whitetail has been very protective of her baby, but she brought it to the feeder and it was all spots and legs!
I'll be back with another card tomorrow. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Beautiful card. I love the simplicity of it and your coloring of the dragonfly. So pretty. It’s really hot in the east too. Have a great day!
I enjoy the cards you make but I also love, love, love the pictures of the birds and animals. Keep them coming…
What a beautiful dragonfly! That is a great image and his coloring looks so realistic. I’m not familiar with the Thrasher bird. I’ll have to look him up. I don’t think we have those here. He must be a nervous nelly to not let you get a still shot of him. Ha ha! Oh what a sweet photo of mama and her fawn. My goodness, those spots are just something to see!
Love the simplicity look of your dragonfly card.
That Thrasher sure is enjoying it’s ‘cool down’ time and the Oriole just had to come and check out to see what the commotion was all about. :}
Love the mama and baby deer photo as well. Wonderful to have a bit of paradise right in your back yard.
Have heard that throughout the US that from Jan-Sept. have been and will be the hottest months ever recorded. Record breaking temperatures all over the US.
Jaydee, Thank You once again for sharing your lovely nature photos with us.
Have a wonderful day and enjoy your week. I do hope that your hand is improving each and every day. Take care
