Stripes for Addicted to CAS

 Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.

It's the fabulous Deepti's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and she has a fun word for us:

When I saw this, I immediately thought of a rainbow and decided that was what I was going to incorporate into my card.  Before I share my card with you, I wanted to let you know that the winner of our challenge this week will receive a prize of a $15 shopping spree from our fabulous sponsor – and challenge creator Kylie at:

I created a watercolor card using my Zig Markers.   I used a piece of Archers watercolor paper and laid down a layer of each color and then spritzed the watercolor stripes with water and stood it up to allow the water to cause drips.   Once the ink was dry, I heat embossed the sentiment and popped up the watercolor layer onto card stock.  But… I just couldn't let it go like that – and added some sequins.

Here's my card:

If you are looking for some inspiration, you have to look no further than the amazing creations of our design team – including our guest designer Julia Altermann

On a personal note:

I was supposed to have this week off work, but ended up working every day except today.  Today I relaxed, did a little housework and spent a little time sitting out watching the comings and goings in the woodland and wetland.

I wanted to share a couple of photos with you.   This first one is a little out of focus on the left because Daddy woodpecker was in flight when the shutter closed.  He was delivering a dried worm to his youngster:

The extremes in temperature and long winters take a toll on our deck and the railing was certainly showing tremendous signs of wear!  It didn't stop the birds from using it as a landing strip – and feeding place!

I went out and tried to take some photos of the wildflowers growing in our prairie and I think this is a Giant Chickweed

I'll be back tomorrow with my Paper Players card.  In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee
