Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday.
I am so pleased that we are past the mid-way point in the week and on our way to the weekend 🙂
One of the challenges I played along with this week is this sketch from Case this Sketch and combined found another great technique challenge that provided me with the idea that I needed. CAS on Sunday is having a technique challenge – use a stencil!
I was really drawn to the vertical design on the one side of the sketch and had the perfect stencil to create it.
I used two shades of pink and one red to create the ombre effect on the hearts beginning with the darkest color and blending out to the lighter pink. Once the ink was dry, I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen to add a little glimmer and shine to the hearts.
Here's my card:
I backed the front panel onto Real Red card stock and used some red glimmer specialty paper and cut out the heart from the Itty Bitty heart punch and popped it up with a little dimensional.
The sentiment is two different stamps from the Crazy for You stamp set that I combined together and stamped onto a piece of Whisper White card stock, which was backed with Real Red.
I hope you will pop along to Case this sketch and CAS on Sunday. There is so much great inspiration for you.
On a personal note:
This winter we have been visited by house sparrows. It's the first time since we moved into the house that they have found us and they have settled into a routine with the other sparrows that have decided to over-winter and the goldfinches. For some reason, they have taken to having snow baths on the deck!
The House Sparrow's aren't my favorite bird, so we are going to have to make some adjustments to the nest boxes to narrow the holes so that the visiting migrant birds, including the Blue Birds, can use the houses that we set aside for them in Spring.
One of the other critters that has been out and about the last couple of days is this:
This Fox Squirrel is much bigger than the grey or black squirrels that seem to visit us every day and is always a welcome visitor. What I didn't know is that December-February is the second of their bi-yearly mating seasons. His color really shines in the sunshine against the bare branches of the trees.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Such a pretty CAS card. Nice touch with the bit of sparkle added.
Looks like your squirrel friend sure is enjoying the sunshine
Having wind along with hard rains…..100% chance and expected to have 1-2 inches and maybe some sleet as well as a few snow flurries. A good day to stay inside all day for sure.
Have a wonderful day along with an enjoyable evening and do stay warm
Oh, I love that border of hearts and how you made them both ombre and larger towards the bottom! Great take on the sketch!
