Hi Everyone. Happy Thursday….. and Happy First day of Spring….and Happy Birthday to me 🙂
Today was a gorgeous day to celebrate my birthday. The temps are in the early 40s, the sun is shining and the chickadee's are singing. It's also my first day of vacation… so lots of reasons to celebrate today:-)
I made a card this past weekend based on the challenge from stamping our stash – the challenge was that the only stamping on the card could be the sentiment.
I pulled out some of my most favorite evah SU paper – Sweet Sorbet (only available for a few more days!) and paired it with a sentiment from Perfect Penants.
I decided I wanted to make a tag from some of the Sweet Sorbet DSP and used my scallop tag punch to create the shape at the top of the tag.
I needed some ribbon and that was solved when a little parcel arrived in the post for me from England. Pammie had included some wonderful American Crafts ribbons in with my birthday cards. I used two of them as they matched the DSP perfectly! Way to go, Pammie! The ribbons are perfect 🙂
Here's my card
Of course, I had to use some pearls! I really think the pearls set off the ribbon, as the colors work so well together. I really am very enamoured with this DSP! I think I might have to put in another SU order just so that I can get some more of this fabulous DSP. I also love the fact that you can make the tag any length you want with the new tag topper punches!
On a personal note:
I must admit, I am looking forward to spending some time in my craft room, doing some spring cleaning and just generally relaxing. Lou will be taking this time to finish off the last bit of painting that needs to be done (my craft room and one wall in the master bedroom). Mind you, we haven't decided whether we are going to repaint the master bathroom either! Errr… mmmm… maybe he isn't quite so close to finishing painting as we thought 🙂
Hopefully the weather will hold out and we will be able to do some walks around the neighborhood, too. The snow is slowly starting to melt, but we still have about 3 feet on most of the back and front gardens. I know I keep saying it… but I am REALLY looking forward to seeing green stuff again!
Well, I will be back tomorrow with another card to share with you. In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

Although I cannot be there,
You know right from the start,
That every wish I wish for you ~
Each comes straight from my heart.
I wish that all your dreams come true.
Have Happiness, not stress!
I wish your life’s Adventure,
Is filled with Grand Success.
I wish you peace, but not without
Enthusiasm deep
As any ocean on this world.
I wish your health you keep.
I make these wishes every day
With prayers sent above,
But on your special day of days
I speak them loud, with love.
Wishing you a Wonderful and Blessed day
Happy Birthday Jaydee hope you had a fantastic day for your birthday! I really love this card, it’s soft, gentle and the colors are so pleasing!
Happy Birthday to one of my favorite bloggers. You always inspire me and love hearing about your life. This card is oh so beautiful with the DSP. I really like the tag punch and have used it a lot. It will be 72 her in VA tomorrow and then cold with possible snow next week. Will it ever end?
A SUPER HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! Today is my daughter’s birthday and I can’t believe she is fifty. I know that means I had her when I was five years old. Glad you are still having young birthdays. Celebrate well.
Marge
Happy Birthday to you! Hope it is a wonderful day filled with your favorite things!
Great card-so soft and pretty! You are a wonderful inspiration to so many of us! Thanks for blogging for us!
Happy Birthday my friend! I miss you ever so much. I wish you well today and always!
Hugs,
Brenda
I’m so sorry! Had I known it was your birthday, I would have popped a card in the mail! But of course, there’s no way it could have compared to the beautiful card you showed in this post. How did you stamp the flowers? So your birthday coincides with the first day of spring – how lovely! I hope you are planning some fun things for your vacation, that you get all of your spring cleaning done, and that you’re able to finish painting. In the mean time, I want to thank you for the beautiful card you posted today, I am going to case it for so many sentiments! Hope you had a lovely day, and a late Happy Birthday!!!!
Happy Birthday!!!! :o)
Oooooh. It’s so soft and beautifully Spring-y! I love this so much!
Happy first day of vacation as well. :o) May spring be on the horizon and STAY once it arrives. The trouble we’re having here is it comes and it goes and it comes and it goes and the yo-yo is killing us! :oS
Hugs!
P.S. Lou! Oh dear…more painting…I need to paint the downstairs bath and the cupboards in there and I’m NOT looking forward to that part of it. Ick. Good luck! :o)
Sending you late Happy Birthday wishes, my dear
Jaydee, for yesterday and all the days to come. Here is a birthday hug too! I had your birthday on my calendar, but didn’t check it (the calendar) lately. Oops!
Yup, I am waiting for Spring with not much patience lately; so happy to be seeing the snow melting. Can’t wait to see the pictures you get from the birds returning. 😉
Happy Birthday, hope you enjoyed your day. Matter of fact celebrate the whole weekend!!
Also, Happy Spring and love the springy card.
