Hey there- birdie birthday

Hi Everyone.  Happy Friday.  I cannot tell you how pleased I am it is Friday… but more about that in a minute.

I have a card for you tonight.  I made this card for the Seize the Birthday challenge, but missed the deadline.

Here's the sketch for STB

I say "hey there" a lot.  So this set with the sentiment on the outside and the birthday greeting on the inside, really was "me"!

Stbinside (1 of 1)

Isn't that image from the "For the Birds" set – just fabulous?

You might notice the pale gray card base – that's the new Smoky Slate and I am in LOVE with it.  I paired it with Naturals White card stock – and it was perfect.  Thank you Gerri K for reminding me that I had totally blown past it in the new catty!  I was so happy when I saw your message on my blog post!

I die cut the front panel for the sentiment from an SU die and used the Essentials Pack to get the perfect place for the piercing.

On a personal note:

I may be a little inconsistent with posting during the next week – even more inconsistent that I have been this week.   There is a lot of really bad stuff going down at work and, to be honest with all of you, it is occupying a lot of my emotional energy and I'm finding it really hard to focus on anything – crafting included.   Tomorrow Lou and I are going to go out and do some fun things to try to take my mind off things and get a change of scenery.  I might get back and be able to make a card, but it might be a couple of days.   So, I hope you will forgive me if my posts are a little spotty next week.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those people who were affected by the Tornadoes in Texas this week.   Colleen, I am so pleased that you were spared and thank you for letting us know that you were safe.

Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight and I know that there are so many that do.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I love the birds inside your card! I’m so sorry work is going through some difficult times, sounds like you need some prayers, so that’s what I’ll do, keep you in my prayers Jaydee. Hope things go the way that is best for everyone. Enjoy your time out with your husband!

  2. Smoky Slate is such a wonderful, soft blue/grey. I love it. I also love the card. It’s a great sketch, and the “Hey There” is perfect. The twine is soft with the DSP and a wonderful accent.
I’m so sorry things are so tough with work right now. I hate emotionally draining situations as they take so much more out of you than you think.
You and Lou have a fun day escaping everything! I’ll be praying for you.
    Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou! You two have fun today!

  3. such a soft and cute card and love the simplicity of it as well.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as well.
    “May God give you…
    For every storm a rainbow,
    for every tear a smile,
    for every care a promise
and a blessing in each trial.
    For every problem life sends,
    a faithful friend to share,
for every sigh a sweet song
and an answer for each prayer.”

  4. I’m so sorry your work place is not good right now. You are such a sun-shiny person and your cards convey that. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I’m glad you have a great sweetheart in Lou! Nancy B

  5. Sorry to hear that things are not going well at work. Taking time out to spend a day with Lou, enjoying the view, will make things better. Even if it is just until Monday. Your card as usual is wonderful and I too like the saying Hey, there! Can’t wait to get my hands on that smoky gray cardstock. You will be in my thoughts and prays. Have a wonderful weekend with youe hubby and kitties.

  6. I too have had an awful week (daughter is in hospital), so I understand the need to get out and get away from things for a while. Went to the Y today. Thinking of you and sending up a prayer for good things to come for you. Cyber hugs! P.S. Love the cards, especially the colors.
