New Color Mosaic Madness

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.  Hope you have all had a great weekend.

I got some time in my stamping space today and played along on a couple of challenges.   I loved the sketch across at seizethebirthday and did make a birthday card, which I will share with you tomorrow.  I decided to make another card, not a birthday card, using the same sketch and that's the one I will share with you tonight.

Here's the sketch

I was playing around with Smoky Slate on an earlier card and decided I really wanted to try it with a couple of the new colors.  I thought it would work really well with Soft Sky and Pistachio Pudding and, I really think it does.  It creates a subtle color scheme that is perfect for either gender and would make a great color combo for a baby boy card.

I ran a piece of Smoky Slate through my Big Shot with the Mosiac embossing folder and then got out the Mosaic punch and punched out some shapes using the Pistachio Pudding and the Soft Sky.   I turned the Smoky Slate piece to the embossed sid and adhered the punched elements in alternating colors.   All that was left for me to do was to stamp a sentiment from Friendly Phrases and one of the stamps from the Mosaic Madness set.  I used Whisper White Craft ink for that particular element, and Basic Black for the sentiment.

Once the front of the card was completed, I adhered the whole piece to a Basic Grey base and adhered the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Of course, I couldn't resist just a tiny piece of bling…. and added a small Basic Pearl to the middle of the patterned piece on the sentiment layer!

Here's my card:

Mosaic (1 of 1)

What do you think of the colors?   I'd love to hear from you.

On a personal note:

I have a photo to share with you tonight.  This set of Orioles that we have are the most camera shy Orioles I have ever known.  Everytime I think I might be able to get a shot, they disappear.   So, this is the best I can do for now!   We have a couple of males and 3 females.   We do hope they stick around!

Oriole (1 of 1)

As always, thank you for visiting my little part of the stamping blogosphere.   Your visits and your comments are always much appreciated.  Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. I love the new mosaic set, folder and punch. Can’t wait to get my hands on them. The Oriole picture is outstanding. Don’t you love the rich colors. So exciting to see them in person as I don’t see them in VA.

  2. Smoky Slate is such a beautiful soft grey with a blueish tinge to it. It works beautifully with the PP and SS. :o) And, I LOVE the card!
You know, the Maryland MLB team is the “Orioles”, so I KNOW they frequent the east coast. Alas, I’ve not seen one in *my* backyard and there assume they don’t visit our area. :sigh: But, I can certainly enjoy them in YOUR yard. :o)
Hooray for spring, Jaydee! It made it!
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou! :o)
