Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday.
It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and she has one that is perfect for this time of year.

When I looked through my stamp sets I realized that I didn't actually have a Mother's Day sentiment. So, I went with a sentiment that could be used to celebrate our Mother's anytime!
I pulled out my Quatrefancy DSP and saw this really pretty Daffodil Delight and Whisper White paper. I thought it would be perfect for my card. Of course, I had to pull out a flower stamp and, as you all know, Secret Garden is my favorite flower set right now!
I stamped the flower onto water color paper using Stazon. I then took out my Blending Brush and my Strawberry Slush ink and got to work. Once I had finished coloring I decided to add a little bling with some gelly rollers. I used a golden yellow gelly roller for the anther and then used a clear one for the petals. I think the little bit of bling added just that little extra.
I used some Lucky Limeade DSP with my leaf sizzlet and used both sides of the paper to add a little interest to the leaves. I glued the leaves onto the card base and mounted the flowers (which I fussy cut) on Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Strawberry Slush. I did this card twice…. the first time I did the flowers on normal card stock and Copic Markers and they were just too flat. The water colored flowers on the water color paper were much more interesting. I also initially stamped the sentiment in Basic Black. It was much too harsh and really detracted from the flowers. I think the second version was much better!
Here's my card:
I really love this new In Color. It's such a rich orangey-pinky-red. Really pretty! Actually I like all of the new In Colors. I guess the only thing that confuses me is why we still have Daffodil Delight and then brought back Crushed Curry. They are both such BRIGHT yellows.
I hope you will pop along to the Paper Players and check out the fabulous design team cards. Once again the team has outdone themselves. Don't forget to play along with us and show us your Mother's Day cards.
On a personal note:
It snowed again yesterday. It's cold and wet today. However, it didn't stop the Oriole from gracing us with his presence yesterday! It was wonderful to see a flash of bright orange. We immediately rushed out and put out the grape jelly in our bright orange feeder. Sadly, it wasn't enough to attract him and he seems to have disappeared! I checked the hummingbird map and it looks like I need to put out the hummer food. I had thought that the snow and cold weather would have kept them further south for a little while longer, but I think I need to go and put some sugar water out, just in case.
As always, thank you for visiting my little area of the stamping blogosphere. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. Well, I will be if I get time in my stamping space! :-) In the meantime, warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.
Hugs
Jaydee

So pretty, Jaydee! Your sparkly flowers are just gorgeous. I’m loving the new Strawberry Slush, too! You’re still getting snow?! I’ll wish some warmer weather your way. Hugs 🙂 Sandy
Gorgeous! and so bright and cheery! Love it!
Beautiful card Jaydee love the colors! Sorry about the snow, I sure understand how depressing it can be I live in Montana so the joke is we have winter 10 months of the year but it really isn’t true. I really love your cards!
Love these new papers and colors!! Very pretty. I have never had any luck attracting orioles, and although in years past I have heard and seen them, I haven’t seen any yet this year. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Beautiful, Jaydee. I love the colors, the happy cheerfulness of the card, all of it.
Snow? Oh dear. I’m so sorry. Surely spring is on the horizon…right? I just fear all the cool weather is going to lead to a miserable summer and I don’t like it one bit. :oS
Hang in there!
Hugs!
Gorgeous card, Jaydee! I love how the strawberry slush flowers pop against the patterned yellow background–love that pattern! Beautiful card, perfect for anyone!
Such a soft pretty card! I can’t believe that you are still getting snow! It has actually been nice in my area lately! Here’s to warmer weather soon! 🙂
What a pretty card, Jaydee! I LOVE that dsp, and I can’t wait to use Strawberry Slush — you’re making me love it already.
Just gorgeous, Jaydee! I love how the Strawberry Slush flowers jump of the cheerful yellow background. The pop of sparkle and the mix of patterned are a great touch. I hope the snow has melted up there by now. Wow! It is so hot down here already…I’m not reasy for summer. We always want the weather we don’t have, don’t we? Haha! Big hugs sent your way! 🙂
