Sneak Peek: Quatrefancy for retrosketches

Hi Everyone.  Happy Sunday.

It was really hard spending time in my craft room today.  Why?  The weather was glorious.  67 degrees and sunny.  Glorious.  I really wanted to get out and soak up the sun and the fresh air. :-)  So, I made a pact with myself.   For every card I made, I could go outside and spend a little time listening to the birds and feeling the sun on my face.   It was wonderful!

I saw this fabulous sketch across at retrosketches.  Then I went looking for a little color inspiration and found this fabulous color combo at dynamic duo

I had this idea to use one of the smaller stamps in the new Quatrefancy set and thought that the Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze would be a great combo for the stamp.   I got out my markers and colored the stamp with both of these colors.  Great idea, but I hadn't quite thought about how many times I was going to have to repeat that exercise!!!!   At first I tried to get it perfect, then gave up and decided it was actually much more interesting if it wasn't placed perfectly!

Once I had it on paper, I decided to fade it just a little with some sticky vellum and decided I liked that better.   I ran the Daffodil Delight panel through my Big Shot with the Quatrefancy embossing folder and liked that the pattern played off the pattern on the focal layer.   I stamped the sentiment and then added a little Baja Breeze and vellum butterfly to finish it off.

Here's my card:

Retrosketches (2)

I love the fresh color scheme and will be using this sketch again!

Don't forget to pop along to the retrosketch and dynamicduos sites and check out the fabulous design team and submission cards.  I know the teams would love it if you played along, too.

As always, thank you for stopping by my blog.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. How pretty is this!!? Great job with the colours this week. I love the new Quatrefancy suite. Thank you for joining us for some Dynamic Duos fun this week! 🙂

  2. Wished I had the card to send it to you . . . . “You are simply wonderful!!”
Please, tell me, are these individual stamps or you have any kind of “mix-match” series?
    Much love.

  3. So, how bummed was I when my box of goodies arrived but didn’t have my Quatrefancy stamp set? Stupid spooty back order… And now, here you are using it, and in such a fun and wonderful way and I’m left grumbling as I want MINE. ;o)
Now then, as for the Daffodil Delight/Crushed Curry conundrum, as someone who adores yellow, there are big ol’ differences there. Yes, they’re both bright yellows, but CC is “dingier” and less a “true” yellow. So there ya go. :oP
Here’s hoping all is well and snow-free on your home front.
    Hugs!
    P.S. Hi Lou! :o)

  4. Beautiful! Love the colours and the stamps you’ve used, great combination of challenges too. We have to soak as much sun up as we can here in the UK as it doesn’t seem to want to come out that often, so you’ve given me an example to follow by! Hugs Bev x

  5. Awww, Jaydee this card just brings a smile to my face! Love how you used the colors and creted the beautiful stamped “patterned paper”. The baker’s twine is the perfect touch. Thank you for joining us this week at Dynamic Duos! Hugs, my friend! 🙂
