Hi Everyone. Happy Tuesday.
For those of you wanting to know the answer to the question, "have you seen Archimedes?" the answer is YES!!!! He's back! He's been around all day and I managed to get a couple of shots of him for you, which I will share with you tomorrow. However, no sighting of kitty.
Simplylessismoore has a CAS single layer card challenge, with a little twist. Not only does the card have to be a single layer, but it has to feature spots and stripes. Well, seeing as I had just received a new stamp set that has paint stripes, I thought it was the ideal time to bring it out. I was also inspired to use a color challenge that I had seen on Nachoaveragechallenge. Now, the challenge is over, but I loved the idea of the colors; Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery and White. So, I had a color scheme and a theme!
Let me tell you, I LOVE Wild Wasabi and Certainly Celery together, they really are a match made in heaven. I also realized that I am totally in love with the new SU ink pads! I love the saturation of color you get with the Wild Wasabi, but also love the fact that the old ink pads leave texture on the Certainly Celery stripes! So…. I obviously love them both for different reasons!
I embossed the sentiment with SU black embossing powder, added a couple of dots in Wild Wasabi and was ready to go.
Here's my card:
Isn't that color combo pretty? I really like it. Another good reason to do color challenges!
As always, thank you for spending time in my little area of the stamping blogosphere. I know I say this every night, but I do appreciate your visits and your comments.
Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight and prayers for the Cardinals who are currently in conclave trying to make a decision that will affect the lives of millions of Catholics around the world.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card and a photo of Archi.
Hugs
Jaydee

“Less is More”
Those two colors ARE quite the match! I’ve always enjoyed pairing them.
What a challenge–one layer but with stripes? Wow. You nailed it, lady! :o)
I’ve found I love the saturation I get with the new pads and have been thinking that maybe my old pads needed a bit of reinking…Ah, well, too late now…;o)
Hugs!
Jaydee, I love the sweep of colors behind the sentiment. Beautifully done!
A gorgeous card
