Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. Hope your weekend got off to a great start!
This week is the first week of 2013 challenges at the Paper Players and it's also the first week that our new guest designers will be joining us. Big welcome to Amy, Brian, Jen, Justin & Sandy.
My regular blog readers will know that my poor hubby has been such a trooper getting things done around the house – not least of which was doing so much repainting! He's also worked really hard getting things ready for the arrival of our friends in October. Over the Christmas vacation he's hung paintings, painted and outfitted our master walk in closet with fitted cabinets. It looks amazing by the way!
I wanted a way to say thank you – and this week's challenge was the perfect excuse to make him a card!
I knew that I wanted to make something clean and simple because that's the way Lou likes his cards! I also knew that I couldn't add ribbon and bows….. so decided to add just a little bit of glimmer instead!
I opened up my updated MDS – I recently upgraded to MDS2+ and got to work. I found a great set – Seasonal Sayings – and one of the sentiments was perfect.
I sized it to fit the card, got out my itty bitty heart punch, some red glimmer paper, a dimensional – and I was ready to make my card.
I love (if you will excuse the pun!) that you can size it to fit any card; you can glam it up or keep it simple – and, the great thing is, you can color it to suit your needs. For me, I went with Basic Black and then colored the "you" with Cherry Cobbler. Lou loved the card!
Now, you need to check out what the rest of the design team have made for your inspiration. There is everything from clean and simple to graphic to vintage!

Great card. Am always appreciative of couples who speak kindly about each other. Continued happiness to you and Lou. (Way to go Lou – you’re a keeper.)
Hi Jaydee! What a great cas card and so sweet to honor your hubby! I love how the red glimmer heart takes center stage to the awesome black sentiment.
I missed yesterday’s post and went back to check out Rosie’s cards. They are wonderful and I sent her a comment there. It’s so sweet that you showcase them like you do Jaydee. Thank you!
A sweet card for a sweet guy! Love it!
What a fun card, Jaydee! I really like how you used MDS with a little pop of sparkle to create it, too. That is one of my goals in 2012, to use MDS more often. This is great inspiration, indeed. I’m sure Lou loved his card from his favorite gal. Hugs! 🙂
Oops, I meant goal in 2013…I’m not used to typing that yey, obviously. Haha!
Clean, simple and Ab Fab, my friend! Happy New Year!
Simply lovely!
Oh, Jaydee, I love this and all it’s simplicity! What’s not to love about polka dots and sparkles?!? :o)
I hope you have a less-stress Monday.
Hugs!
P.S. Hi Lou! I hope you got a nice restful, non-painting weekend. ;o)
Great CAS card, Jaydee. I like the combo of polka dots with a little red glimmer. Someday I will learn to use MDS, too!
