Happy Belated Birthday Anne Marie

Hi Everyone.  Happy Thursday.

I'm sorry I haven't been back since Monday.  Every spare minute has been spent trying to catch up on my card production for Enchanted Makeovers.  I'm determined to get as close as I can to the 1000 card mark even if it means spending every second I have prepping for it.  So, I hope you will all forgive me!

This is one of the cards that  made for EM.   I am dedicating this card and this post to the very wonderful Anne Marie.  AM, as she is also known, is one of my fellow design team members on the Paper Players.

Anne Marie is a very special lady and I want to say a VERY happy birthday AM.  You are an amazing lady.  Not only has AM helped me with my card drives for OWH, she also does other things that really warm my heart.  Many of you will know that animals are a special part of our lives – whether they are domesticated or wild.  AM is one of those people who truly understands that and dedicates time to her local shelters trying to find homes for animals, fostering them, photographing them to try to make them look attractive to possible owners, working with the animals at the shelter.  All of that takes a special type of person – and AM is certainly that.

You can check out AM's blog right here

Here's my card

happy birthday AM

For the card drive, I wanted to make some flat cards that would easily fit through the post.  I did want to make sure that there was detail and interest on the card and tried to create that with texture from the base under the flowers.  The different color flowers.  Then, I got out my Gelly Roller and gave the flower heads a little bling.  It's really pretty when you have it in hand.

I'll be back on Saturday with my challenge card for the Paper Players and then will be back on Sunday with an update on how the Enchanted Makeover card drive is going.  I'll also have a card to share with you.  I must admit, I have never made cards for little boys.  However, I bought a couple of new sets and have been having a ball creating boy cards!  I cannot believe that I have never made them before.  It's one of the great things about making cards for this sort of drive… it forces me to think outside of my little comfort zone and into something different.  I am so glad that I did push myself and can't wait to share the cards with you.

I'll leave you with a shot of Lou's office.  It's not finished yet.  I still need to find some nice things to fit onto the shelves.  I must tell you that the desk has been commented on by absolutely EVERYONE who has come into the house.  Male and female.  Everybody has commented on how unusual it is and how great it is.  Forget the view from the window… this has proven to be a conversation piece.  I love it.

As always, thank you for stopping by my little area of the stamping blogosphere.  I also thank you for your patience whilst I have been spending time working on the EM cards.   My continued thoughts and prayers for those affected by Hurricane Sandy – and now the storm.   Warm hugs and prayers for those of you who need a little lift tonight.

Hugs

Jaydee

  1. Jaydee, you are so sweet! I did not expect to see this when I popped over to your blog this morning. Guess what? You actually didn’t miss my birthday…it is coming up on Wednesday. I’m turing 30 (again) so it is a big milestone! Haha! Your card is beautiful and I just love how you used the acrylic block to add the background. Very, very pretty! Have a great Saturday! Big hugs, friend! 🙂
