Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday.
If you missed yesterday's post – please click here to see how you can help in my latest blog drive supporting women and children. I'd love your support 🙂
It is my turn to host the challenge across at the Paper Players this week and I was asked to create a color challenge. Personally, I love these colors they are so rich and versatile. The Paper Players design team did an amazing job with these colors and I personally can't wait to see what you all do with them. I loved these colors so much that I made two cards for the challenge. The one you see on this post and you will see the Christmas card I made with these colors later in the week. yep… Christmas card!
For my first card I knew I wanted to use French Foliage, but did it with a little twist. I wanted to give an overall shimmer and softness to the stamped images and I'll talk about how I did that after you see the pic.
A lot of masking went into this stamped panel, I can tell you.
Here's how I made the card:
- I stamped the Oak leaves and then cut out individual maks for each leaf. I stamped those in Cajun Craze.
- I then inked up the oval leaf with Bravo Burgundy and stamped those on my Very Vanilla layer. I then added masks to each of those leaves.
- The final step was to ink up the french script stamp with Night of Navy and stamp that over the masked leaves.
- I then removed all of the masks and let the ink dry. I used some Ranger Perfect Pearls powder (gold) all over the top of the stamped images. (I used the setting Perfect Medium on the image first". I brushed the pearls over the image with a paintbrush. I know you can't see the golden shimmer, but it is there when you move the card around in the light.
- Lastly, when the shimmer was where I needed it, I took a paper towel that had been sprayed with just a little Stamp Cleaner and gently went over the image. I love the result.
My Christmas card (that you will see later this week) took about 10 minutes to do from start to finish. So I can't wait to share that with you later.
I really hope you will play along with my challenge this week. All you need to do is make a new card and then pop along to thepaperplayers and add your card to the link. You have until next Friday at 12pm PST to enter your creation.
Now, don't forget to pop along to the design team and check out what they have created this week.

Absolutely gorgeous, Jaydee. French Foliage is one of my favourites too, and I always love what you do with it, but you really outdid yourself this time.
