Feel Good Saturday – looking for a way to snag some blog candy?

Hi Everyone.  Happy Saturday.

Based on the number of my blog readers who have helped out by making cards for past card drives for Operation Write Home, I know that many of you like to put your amazing talents to good use and help others.   Now, you have another opportunity!

When I was on the Graphics Fairy site earlier this week I noticed a banner in her sidebar that read "my favorite charity".  Well, considering the Graphics Fairy does so much for crafters by providing free images, I thought I should really go and check out her click through link.

I was astonished when I found this amazing organization called Enchanted Makeovers Just the name alone caught my attention.  However, it was what they are doing that REALLY caught my attention.

I'd really like you to click the Enchanted Makeover banner below to learn more about this amazing organiztion- then we can talk about how you can help 🙂

Many of you knit.  Most of you make cards.  These are two ways you can help Enchanted Makeovers and spread a little enchantment of your own!

When I read the blog and what Terry and her team were doing, I sent her an email and asked her if she would like some cards to provide to those in the shelters, along with the blankets that she was already collecting.   It was minutes before I got a very warm and enthusiastic response from Terry!

So, how can you help and what's in it for you 🙂

Well, apart from the feeling of knowing that you will be doing something wonderful for others, I will offer up my  usual Stampin' Up! blog candy to those of you who participate in this Enchanted Makeover Card Drive.  There will be prizes drawn from those of you who contribute to this drive.

In addition – the very talented Jennifer McGuire has offered up a place on one of her online card classes to one lucky participant of the card drive.  The winner will be chosen at random from those of you who participate.  This is a great addition to my blog candy and you can find more details about Jennifer's offer and classes right here.

How you can help for this particular drive

Donate 20 or more hand crafted cards, with envelopes

  • The following types of cards would be perfect:
  • Christmas;
  • Thank you;
  • Birthday cards for women, tweeners, teenagers, children and babies;
  • Thinking of you; Thank you;
  • Love you cards suitable for tweeners, teenagers, children and babies;
  • Cards with no sentiment

Donate hand sewn items:

  • The following items are always needed and much appreciated:
  • pillowcases;
  • twin size quilts (cottage style);
  • quilts for kids;
  • dolls;
  • aprons;
  • capes for kids

For every 5 of you who join in this drive I will do a drawing for a $50 Stampin' Up! shopping spree courtesy of me.  So, you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting your choice of $50 worth of stamping supplies for your efforts.   You also get the feeling of having done something good for someone else – and that feeling is priceless.

Closing date for receipt of goods is 11/23.  That gives you 6 weeks to get your goodies together and posted off to me.

I have created a Frequently Asked Questions that you can download here.  I'm hoping this will have answers to many of the questions you might have.  You can download the
Download Jaydee's Enchanted Makeover card drive

If you cannot donate sewn items or cards, you can always help Enchanted Makeovers outside of this drive.  Monetary donations are always welcome.  You can find out about that here.

There is one other way you can help..…. if you have a blog and think your readers may be interested in this organization, you can link to Enchanted Makoevers and pass along the word.  You could also do a blog drive of your own.

I REALLY hope that you will join me in this drive.  As we come close to Thanksgiving and Christmas, I cannot think of a more appropriate time to do this drive.

Before I go – a huge shout out to CAM, CINDY, JUDI, DORIS and BRENDA.  Their participation in the last Operation Write Home drive is sooooooo appreciated.  The cards they made are gorgeous and I cannot wait to share their cards with you next week.  They really are beautiful and I know you will find a great deal of inspiration from these amazing ladies.

Hugs

Jaydee

Please leave me a message on this post, or send me an email, letting me know if you will be joining in this drive.
